I think there was someone else though...someone who actually posted a review of her medical here within the last three months. Damn. I really can't remember who it was!

You have to bring a letter from your Doctor stating you are pregnant.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requires that women who are pregnant and required to have a medical examination in connection with the issuance of a visa and are examined in a country currently using the 2007 TB Technical Instructions must have a chest x-ray examination conducted. Pregnant women will have to provide the panel physician with consent to conduct the chest x-ray. For the health of the applicant and her unborn child, CDC instructs panel physicians and laboratories to provide abdominal and pelvic protection with double layer, wrap-around lead shields when they receive the chest radiographs. This requirement does not apply to those posts using the 1991 TB Technical Instructions. The 1991 Technical Instructions allow for an exemption of the chest x-ray requirement for pregnant women. If the applicant is pregnant and does not wish to have the X-ray, a temporary exemption will be granted. To be granted the exemption, the applicant must bring to the examination written certification of her pregnancy signed by her personal physician or obstetrician.

Yes it's interesting that in both places they say 'deferred'. Does this mean you have to wait for visa issuance AFTER you have the baby and have the xray? Someone else here must have been pregnant at the time of the medical/interview - just can't think of anyone off the top of my head.

I'd love for someone to have that clarified.

I found one review where the person had their medical and interview while pregnant - but it's from 2006. She was issued the visa:

That was the Doctor in Calgary - where they don't do the medicals anymore. My Husband saw him too, he said he was arrogant yet professional. No one ever came out of that place with a great review about him.

Holymoly... I just had a big scare

Earlier in December, I took my neighbor's package off the street (literally) as the idiots from the post office left it on their doorstep. Turns out it was their wedding pictures and when the dude picked it up, I invited him and the wife for dinner (so we can finally make friends *CHEER!!!*).

Anyway he wrote a thank you card and slid it inside the door slit thing. We have a regular wooden door and a glass door in front of it, and our door has that mail thing on the bottom. Nobody uses that as we have a regular mailbox beside our door.

So while washing dishes, I suddenly hear a bunch of clattering sound by the front door. I -KNEW- the husband was off at his event so I knew it wasnt him... And I wasnt expecting anyone. So I thought I was being burglarized Then I saw the mail thing move and I got even more scared.

Of course, rather than stand closer to the back door and prepare for an exit, should it be a real robbery, I just stand in front of the front door, eyes wide open, in my pink bunny slippers, with a soapy hand holding a fork

Anyway when the card was slid into the house, I picked it up, opened the door and stuck my head outside. Smart *pats self*

Me and the neighbor gotta clarify some rules over dinner for sure.
