Congrats on the house huggles! That's great news! Hope you can get moved in quickly! Our plans to move this summer from our apt to military housing (townhome)may be unravelling.... I'm NOT a happy camper! But maybe it will be for the best I've had too many moves in the past 8 years.

I don't really have any petnames for my hubby, but he calls me sweety all the time. When he uses my real name I know I'm in trouble... LoL! I don't use his full name alot just the shortened version, his name ends in ley. His coworkers all have nicknames for each other or use last names so sometimes he won't respond to his real name when I use it! LOL!

I know exactly how this is. Sometimes I have to call my husband by his last name in order for him to respond. The army drives me nuts at the best of times.

Thanks Joyce, Rhiann, T-mix and Minnie :) I'm pretty excited about it!

I have a random question for you gals with military husbands. The city I'm moving too has a really big service member population (thanks to Fort Carson and the Air Force Academy) so I see men and women in uniform walking around town all the time. I've noticed that they all have badges on their left shoulders and there seems to be a million different signs and symbols. What do they mean? Is it like a ranking thing or something? I'm curious but I don't want to just walk up to someone randomly and ask, ya know?

Tough one, Reven. We had that happen in our office..... someone got the job knowing they were pregnant, then went on mat leave. We just rolled with the flow. Though I do admit to being a bit put out that they did that. lol. It all worked out, though.

Tell me this.... if you weren't pregnant or considering leaving the country, would you interview?

Also.... not to be a Debbie Downer or anything (lol) but they'll be interviewing other people and you may not get the position. That interview experience will come in handy when you move.

Krikit, if I weren't preggo or leaving the country, I definitely would interview! It's the next progression of my career.

True that I might not get the position--two years ago, I applied to the same position with the same employer, got interviewed, and was not the successful candidate. They hired a guy but I heard he promptly resigned one month later. Then recession hit and the job position was shelved. Then it opened up again so I applied again. I'll be interviewing with the same two managers like the last time.

I dunno...what's the chance of getting called back for a second interview and not getting it? Especially after my resume advanced two years later.

But now that I'm pregnant, my priority changed....

Raven, I'd have to agree with T-mix on this one. You have a lot on your plate right now with the pregnancy and stress of immigration, why willingly put more pressure on yourself, especially if you're happy with the job you are in. I would imagine that there will be more opportunities for a smart eager lady like yourself in the near future ;) With that said I would probably go to the interview. Like Krikit said, the interview experience will be pretty valuable, and really, if you're anything like me, you'll always wonder if you would have got the job if you went after it. It would at least give you the option.

OK, I'll go to the interview. But I agree with you and the rest about taking on the new job. :-)

Went for the Medical in Vancouver today...

Was a little sad that I seemed to be the only one who trolled VJ....(or maybe I truely am freaking annoying and no one would tell me for fear I would stalk them???) BUT..I did meet some really friendly and fun people there...and that made the long day more enjoyable!!

Good Luck to everyone heading to Montreal

 Cute Wyatt

Guess what everyone? We got that house we wanted! :) The seller counter offered today for $1,500 more than what we originally offered them... I don't see how $1,500 is really worth arguing over, so we agreed.

So now there's an appraisal and an inspection and all of the other fun things that come with committing to a place. Hopefully everything goes well! We're suposed to close in 4 weeks, maybe sooner if we can make it happen. Its unoccupied so they want to move it pretty fast.

Congrats! Good on you for getting the deal.
