No, I have a car, it's just that we have a very similar restaurant less than 5 minutes away from us. I'd try that one in Monrovia if we were in the neighborhood, but I doubt I'd drive an hour, or more if there was traffic. We've already found good poutine less than 5 minutes away. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing for me though.

Monrovia isn't that far from us... the hubby and I should check at place out...

I have finally admitted that my experience in Montreal just cannot be typical. How often would a Montreal Police Officer give tourists exact wrong directions? How often is there a riot? How often do people simply refuse to acknowledge that they are able to even speak english to afford any form of communication with a tourist? Oh wait, that last one happens all the time.

No, it is a low cost though. The neuter is $40, a spay is $60. He is also getting a rabies shot which is $10. There is no point in giving him any other shots as they all require boosters at 3 weeks and there is no way I'm going to be able to get him to a vet to give the boosters :( - I wish they could do a vaccine that didn't require the boosters. He is the 4th I've had done.

Anyway, he came through everything fine and is now in the garage - although he is NOT in the nice warm box I prepared for him - grrr. It is still cold overnight so I am hoping he will discover the box. He was asleep under the lawn mower earlier - I could hear him snoring, hehehe. Poor little guy - he has eaten though so that is good and hopefully he will find the box where I moved it to where he has been hiding. Tomorrow afternoon it is expected to be warmer and I can let him out then. The first 24 hours he is still somewhat under the influence of the anaesthetic and doesn't need to deal with dangers and predators while still dozy. I'm hoping to get his mother done next time - if I can catch her.

Kathryn, you and my hubby would totally click. He's passionate about cats and their welfare too. He trapped feral cats in Chicago winters and took them in to animal shelters.

When we dream about winning the lottery, he wants to set up no-kill animal shelters with focus on cats. :-) I want to set up scholarships funds for struggling but determined kids from immigrant families.

Very typical..i grew up there. and ti's not just tourists that get treated like that. also buss drivers are horribad. the driver missed my stop even though i hit the buzzer and when i complained and asked to be let of asap she blabbered on in french to me and made me feel like it was my fault. Part of the reason why i left the province at 25. well that and the stupid politics ugh.

I had forgotten that Canada has an additional special relationship with Haiti through our Haitian born Governor General. My heart goes out to all affected by this tragedy.

The Government of Canada has also announced it will match dollar for dollar the donations made by Canadians to recognized charities dealing with the rescue and relief efforts in Haiti.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
