Today someone on the phone said I sounded like I was from California.

I guess I'm losing my Canadian accent... and I'm not getting a NY one in its place, LOL.

Haha

I keep hoping the kids and I don't pick up this southern accent 5 of us Canadian's under one roof should help.

Happy Birthday, LGG!

Yeah, Marilyn, I have exactly the same 'problem' with Big Lots  ! They used to carry a lot more International foodstuffs than they do now, but still, you can get some great deals on things not readily available elsewhere. We buy our tea there when they have the Pure Ceylon tea in tins (a variety of makers) because it is excellent tea at a great price.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Nice!

The other day someone at work asked me if I was native American. I find that rather interesting considering I'm really pale... pasty Canadian white as I like to say. Maybe it's my long dark hair? Otherwise, I have no idea where that came from.

I've never been to Big Lots. Am I missing out on something?!

And happy birthday to Lgg!! :)

That reminds me, someone asked me if I was Greek once. That was weird. I don't think I have a drop of Greek blood in me at all. lol Maybe 5000 yrs ago.

As for Big Lots, and Dollar Tree, I don't think we have either one of those around here. :( I've been keeping an eye out for a suitable replacement for my beloved Dollarama, but it's not happening. *pout*

GAWD... ok so I just searched on their websites, and neither are in Santa Barbara, but BOTH are in Ventura, which is 30 miles from here. This happens ALL THE TIME. SB sucks for a lot of things like that. It has it's own little pros, but the lack of availability of certain things like that, including JC Penney and Dairy Queen, might I add (NO Dairy Queen! GOOD GOD)... is really making Santa Barbara NOT worth the extra expense of living here. lol

so I just went into our spare room to open the windows when I noticed glass on the floor, then I checked the window and noticed it was broken :o... then I remember about a week ago I though I heard glass breaking but I thought it was somewhere else... then I was moving stuff away from the window when I noticed the other side of the window was broken too..

in the back of our apartment there is an alleyway where the kids play basketball.. their basketball net is by the back of our place cause ours is the only one that has a covered patio.. so my guess is that a stray basketball is the reason for the broken windows...

so I guess tomorrow I get to call the apartment manager and I guess I will have to clean up that room so they can get in there.. it is kind of our catch all room :P

Big Lots sells all sorts of stuff... I like going there for food stuff, like snacks for the hubster's lunch etc.. I also like to buy shampoo and stuff their..

I bought this cute little clutch bag there for 2 bucks last week.. I bought it for my sister but I ended up using it myself

I wouldn't think you're losing your Canadian accent. I'm fairly new to these parts and have had 3 Americans, (from different parts of the State) say they didn't think I sounded like I was from Canada! They thought at least from Washington area. That is until I said "about; garage; drama; or mom"...Guess us Northerner's say our "a's" different! And "mom" comes out British sounding....

No Dairy Queen here either, only one in AR and that one is about 20miles away from us. :(

No DQ here either!!! But one not too far away. We do have Marble Slab, Baskin Robbins and Sonic though!! :)

And I keep forgetting to go to Big Lots!! I might go in there today though...just to remind me what they carry!

 No one knows I'm native down here, everyone thinks I'm Spanish.

Actually a few weeks ago someone asked me if I was Hawaiian... I was like: "What the fut?"

I am starting to get a bit of a complex down here.

Donne moi une poptart!
