David has mentioned a GPS to me, but i thought you had to have a subscription or something along with it, or it wont update with construction info etc? Maybe i'll look into that more.

We have a Garmin and it lets you do basic updates for free. You just plug it into your computer using a USB cable and it downloads the changes onto the system. It doesn't know if there's construction on the street, but I don't really know if any GPS can know that. There is an add on feature you can buy with Garmin for around $100 that gives you traffic feed. The model we has includes basic traffic, but it only knows major highways and it's usually on a delay. With the add on feature apparently it can give you a more reliable read. That is of course, if driving in traffic is a big concern of yours.

You'll get there Kim! I was terrified at first and now I whip around town like I've lived here for years.

Haha. That reminds me of driving in Canada with one last month. My Nuvi told me to take the "Cue". I'm like.... huh.gif . So when I looked at the screen I could see "Qew" in upper and lower case letters. Travelling in another direction it told me to take the QEW and said it properly. The letters were all in upper case.

Yes! I remember that happening to us to. When we drove up to MTL for the visa interview we took the GPS and it said "Qew." I had a good laugh at that. It was also really, really bad at pronouncing French street names.

OMG, that would be hilarious to hear the French pronunciations. She (I named her Aimee) can't even get half the English pronunciations down. lol

Oh ya Happy May 2-4!!! laughing.gif

I love that no one down here knows what that is.

I was on a Canadian site yesterday and saw the May 2-4 ads. It makes me chuckle that the Canadians have managed to convert Victoria Day into a beer-drinking reference. I am sad that I am not there to join in the fun.

Happy belated birthday, Marilyn!

Krikit: I know right! I was telling everyone at work about it and first they asked: "What's a 2-4?" and I told them and they just loved that! Then I told them about the rest. I think everyone deep down wishes they were Canadian around here now. Yes we love to party!

No house yet, Udella! I am still homeless. lol. We put an offer in on one I loved but someone else put in a stronger offer at the same time and we lost it. Super bad timing. I cried. So now we have an offer in on a new house but I think that one's going to fall through as we, so far, cannot come to an agreement on the price. I have pretty much convinced my husband to settle on a rental because I need a break from the stress of being homeless, having no access to my belongings because they are all in storage, and the fact that I have my daughter's wedding (and another wedding) to focus on, as well as getting my parents' house put back together as they are nearing the end of their renovations and my daughter's bridal shower is being held there. lol. I just need one less thing to worry about, that's all! Is that too much to ask?! lol

It takes a lot of the humour out of it when you have to explain the joke. lol

Awwww Krikit..I hope it all works out for you soon. Funny how more than one person can put an offer on a house at a time..I'm sure back home if there is an offer, no one else can unless it's not accepted, or something like that. When my late husband was house shopping we put an offer in on a home, and then was told by the realtor it was "frozen" pending on another offer.
