A red dress is meant to stand out, and most surely will at a wedding. Anything that draws attention from the bride will draw her ire. Black dress is good, but more passive aggressive than a red one.

You know what would make an even bigger statement? wearing a white dress that could pass for a wedding-gown :innocent:

so I talked with my hubby and we decided that I am not going to work until after my surgery... I had a real bad day at work yesterday.. I was feeling horrible and overwhelmed with the kids running all over the place... some days I feel ok and others not so much.. I am not sure what it going on, maybe stress or maybe the gallstones.. I have no idea...

LOL! Thats a pretty good idea, but I do want to live long to witness the drama that she will bring to this family  Anyhow, Ive decided on a silk, pale yellow dress that make my girls look real good...

That seems like a good idea Marilyn. Best to just rest and take care of yourself, especially since surgery is taxing enough.

Woohoo Kizza!

Gosh, I cant wait for the weekend. It is one of those weeks.

Im checking the lab reports for my Chemistry 101 students. The experiment they had to write up was on determining the percentage of a particular compound in a mixture. One of my students hand writes his report, and I should have enforced that reports be typed, but whatever.

Anyway this particular student misspelled "heated" to "hated". So the report reads something like this:

"I weighed my chemical A, chemical B and chemical C and I hated it for three minutes. After cooling, I hated it again for another two minutes.............. The errors in my experiment may be due to my hating procedure.... etc."

At first I laughed so hard I teared up. Then I just felt like tearing up. These are the future chemists, pharmacists and physicians of our time... :P

We went to the courthouse this afternoon and got married :) We had really wanted to wait to do one more formal wedding, but with the need of medical insurance with the little one on the way, this was the best option. It will allow me to apply for AOS now as soon as I get a SSN. We are still doing a formal wedding in July....I just have to try to be careful or else my dress will not fit in 3 months time!!! Thank god for it being lace up in the back with panels....

Congratulations! Actually, you don't need to wait for the SSN to apply for the AOS if you have everything else ready to go:-).

so I finally heard back from the lady I work for today after I sent her the email yesterday.... in the email she seems upset because I didn't give them much notice but in the email she sent me yesterday morning she asked if I thought I would be able to work up until the surgery ..

she also said if she thought I would be returning after my surgery... I am not sure if I should or not.. it isn't really fair for them to find temporary care for about 2 months and then have me come back...

and I kind of would really would like to find a job that is closer ...

I have no freaking idea what to do... I really don't want to deal with this right now though.. I have other stuff on my mind...

I do know that the last few months have been challenging for them with me not being very reliable...

Well maybe they are just waiting for you to offer to resign? Let them off the hook?

Congratulations Colleens for both the wedding and the little one!!!

If you don't feel well enough to work then maybe its better to focus on being healthier and recuperating, Marilyn. You might actually need more time to recover as you've been feeling unwell for a while.

Finally married... and still married... ;)

Congrats - nothing wrong with doing the courthouse thing to make sure you have the health care, we did the same, got married right away so I would have health care (I know us silly Canadians who think we need health care lol). Congrats, and congrats on the little one too. And I am sure you will look wonderful in the dress no matter what.

I think you should let that job go and while you are recovering you can see what is local for you. Everything happens for a reason and maybe this will get you a better job and closer to home. Good luck with the surgery, been there done that the year we were going through the K-1 process. The worst was the eating, but this too will pass. I hope you get surgery soon so you can feel better soon.
