I've tried just about everything people have suggested to me. Some of it's only a temporary fix then I'm back to scratching like crazy.

I'm thinking it's a virus, or a dermatological problem. Guess I'll see at the end of May.

You just triggered a memory for me that I wonder might be of use . . . a number of years ago I was pretty stressed out and broke out in hives all along my arms. The thing is, it wasn't only the stress - the stress was a trigger but the actual allergy was to aniline based dyes that I was using in my museum work. I also reacted to one red and one yellow food colouring - that was aniline dye based - as well. These dyes were used in tomato soup and that is actually what led to our identifying the culprits. The interesting thing is that when the 'stresss' passed, the allergy to the dye also seemed to pass so it was the two of them in combination that caused the effect. If you are stressed it could be that your body is over-reacting to something quite basic, like a food colouring agent, that may not trigger a reaction when you are not stressed.

Something to consider, anyway. The only thing that worked on the hives, btw, was betamethazone (sp?)- a corticosteroid.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Wow Huggles!!! How awful. I'd be pretty shaken up too.

We just about got into a wreck today ourselves. For some reason the vehicles ahead of us put on their brakes, hard, and we barely had enough time to swerve around the car in front and move to the right hand lane! Good thing it was empty...or I probably wouldn't be online right now! That's the last thing I need...to be injured in a car accident!!

I swear South Carolina has the worst drivers EVER!!! To them, a Yield sign means stop. A boild peanut/peach/firework stand on the side of the road means stop. And if you're driving anywhere near a walmart, prepare to slow down to a snail pace.

Kathryn it is bad here in Virginia as well, but not as bad as Atlanta. My porch and everything on it is covered in yellow dust, it is incredible. It is supposed to rain so hoping that will get rid of a lot of the pollen in the air.

Hmm, interesting.

I'll look into this.

the doctor's appointment went ok I guess.. I spent almost 2 hours waiting in the waiting room but when I finally got called back I only was there for maybe 10 minutes if that... The doctor basically said , " if you have gallstones we remove the gallbladder" ... the way he said it it sounded like there were no other options

so I guess they are going to schedule me for surgery in the next couple of weeks.. :S he said you are in the hospital for about a day and then you need a couple of weeks for recovery....

I don't think my kidney infection is getting better unsure.gif it still bothers me... I have about 6 or 7 more days of antibiotics left though.. I see my doctor on Friday so I will tell him about it then..

Marilyn I agree it is usually done laprascopic (or however it is spelled lol). I had it done about 6 months before I moved down south and it was not to bad, and at least I could eat food again. So here is to you getting surgery quickly and a speedy recovery. good.gif

grab ur supper, and watch a lap-chole on you tube

The music provided really sets the mood!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Strange that they'd put you on an antibiotic they don't really use anymore..

 So true! I really have a hard time driving around here, as I'm a cautious driver..kinda taught that way. But I'm sure I'll be just as bad as the rest of them in no time!

I got the job!

kicking.gif

I've got a brief orientation and walkthrough later today, then it looks like I'll actually be starting tomorrow morning! ohmy.gif

I'm a little on the fence about some aspects of the position, but it IS a significant job with a high-profile arts organization, so I'm not going to complain. I'm just grateful that I was able to get a job so quickly, and on the arts side of management / administration to boot! biggrin.gif

Congratulations, Wyatt!!!! That sounds like an awesome job.

This is the monstrosity I walked into at work today. Is that not the ugliest thing you have ever seen? It doesn't match with the decor or anything. I get to walk by this every single day for the rest of the summer. Bleh.

Oh and look carefully! Do you see the birds nest and the fake butterflies? laughing.gif

I would be tempted to start adding my own little touches to it. Like if you find a dead fly or a dead ladybug you could glue them on. lol

I think it went really well, and I don't think there are many other candidates, so I like my chances. It was a craigslist posting and very very vague... I almost didn't apply because it seemed weird- it was only a sentence. We'll see what happens! Hours are good, benefits are good, paid vacation time pretty much immediately, profit sharing program, I can dig it.

Oooooooh. Sounds promising, Huggles. Good luck!

What happened to them? =(

She decided to leave VJ. sad.gif

Yikes, I just got a call from my husband who witnessed a bad traffic accident and he's pretty shaken up.

Ohmygosh, Huggles. How horrible. sad.gif

Glad you're safe, TimandJoyce.

Have you guys ever seen that, "16 and pregnant" show? I'm watching it right now and the girl is in labor and screaming at the top of her lungs because of the contractions. I mean, I've never had a baby so I have no idea how that feels, but I've never seen someone react like that! Wow.

I can't watch shows like that... it bothers me alot that people that age are having children. I think the last thing they needed was a tv show. Oh society.

You're right, you're right, it is pretty awful. I've heard about it from others but this is the first time I've seen it, and I just can't believe some of the stuff that they put out on here. I will say that at least they don't glorify the situation, you can tell that the girl is having a lot of issues.

There really is nothing on TV today :(

Probably why I never turn the tv on :P

Never anything on, haha.
