so i think the antibiotics are helping my kidney infection... but the down side is they are making me feel nauseous... and I do take them with food...

I was reading up remedies and people suggested taking them with milk but I am lactose intolerant.. others suggested drinking ginger or peppermint tea but then I found out that it is not good to drink that when you have gallstones...

Marilyn, do you drink soy or rice milk? That might help. Also, check to see if chewing DGL licourice tablets is allowed. It is a natural stomach calmer (has to be DGL) and might help ease the nausea. Unfortunately, licourice candy doesn't work  .

On Saturday night the birds chattered all night. I actually had to look at the clock when I went to bed because I thought it was dawn. lol. The next morning my SIL was talking about it and I said "They were probably discussing an upcoming earthquake and we don't know about it because we don't talk 'bird'." So last night, right after we arrived back in town, my SIL calls and says to my husband "Tell Krikit no more earthquake predictions." So he hangs up the phone and tells me and I'm like "Was there an earthquake or something?" He says "I don't know. She just told me to tell you that and then we hung up." Men. Honest to God. Sometimes my husband drives me batty. lol

One of the things I noticed when I moved here in Spring time is that the birds sang at night! I found out that it isn't all the birds but Northern Mockingbirds who sing at night and since they imitate other birds, it sounds like lots of different species. It actually sounds really lovely to hear them during the night- but then I like the sounds of birds .

Ohhhhhh. That is so interesting, Kathryn. And good to know. I asked my SIL if she had ever heard them before -- since she grew up there -- and she said no. My husband had never heard them before, either. Maybe they've only recently moved to NC. laughing.gif I can't wait to tell her!

I just love it when a great song comes on the radio before you arrive at your destination. This morning, it was perfect timing, Butterfly Wings by Machines of Loving Grace came on, and then Blitzkrieg Bop came on.

So, I just went for a job interview, which was more like a job questionnaire. They gave me this 5 page booklet of hypothetical scenarios and theoretical questions and asked me to write up detailed responses. It seriously took me almost an hour to complete it! I mean, it would have been easier for someone to ask me these questions and then have me respond verbally, right? Maybe they're testing out my writing and spelling skills?

So anyways, I do that, talk to the manager for about 5 seconds, get home, sit down on the computer and the phone rings. It's them. They want me to come back in at 1 for a "formal interview" geez! I mean, I'm happy they called me, I guess my responses worked well enough, but wouldn't it have made more sense to do it all at once? It's not like they're next door!

Oh well, if I get the job then I won't have any problems with this at all...

True and good luck :)

Writing out answers to questions that are normally asked at an interview is weird! As you said, they may have wanted to see your writing skills - but geez, a couple of separate questions for that would suffice?

Good they are calling you back today though - at least you are in interview mode, if they wanted you to come in tomorrow that would be even more annoying

I got the job!

I've got a brief orientation and walkthrough later today, then it looks like I'll actually be starting tomorrow morning! :o

I'm a little on the fence about some aspects of the position, but it IS a significant job with a high-profile arts organization, so I'm not going to complain. I'm just grateful that I was able to get a job so quickly, and on the arts side of management / administration to boot! :D
