I will apologize in advance for not having caught up on any of these threads since..... I dunno...... February 12th I think it was. <_< So, hey..... that's great/bad/sad/sucks. Hope that covers it.

Anywho..... my husband came home from his 1st day at work and told me he's flying back to Miami next week. LOL. So now I'm thinking I'll just go home for a bit. No real sense staying here on my own, really.

There was something else I wanted to say. Hmmm. Too bad I can't remember what it was. haha

I really need to stop watching Lady Gaga videos... I've been listening to her music for the last 5 hours.

Why are her songs so addictive!?

I have to admit... I don't think I have ever had that problem, nor will I ever have that problem in the future.

My horoscope last week told me to watch a video with her and Beyoncé in it... LOL I don't remember why it told me to do that... I never ended up watching it.

Oh I have a funny story... or maybe it's just funny to me?

Anyways it's kind of hip with hipsters to be living in the ghetto in Philly or any other city. My friend came from San Diego last year to attend grad school in Philly and moved to Fishtown - which isn't bad but it isn't great. I told him he'd probably get robbed eventually and he laughed it off. Well yesterday he calls me to tell me that he got mugged on his way to train station in North Philly! He was fine so I just burst out laughing because... well.. I told him this would happen.

Broad daylight, had his iphone, laptop and money taken... that's what you get for walking around with it in North Philly! Ghetto life isn't so fun now is it?

It was his macbook pro too... haha. The guy knew he had an iphone because the top of it was sticking out the pocket of his hipster skinny jeans!

LoL, hipster uniform just says "STEAL FROM ME NOW!!!"

I know people who are like that here. They think that the crappier neighborhoods have more history, or my favorite "They have more of a vibrant soul to them". Seriously? I thought that was just graphitti

Yep thats what he said. "Philadelphia has soul"

You see them so often. One of my husbands coworkers is from Rhode Island and moved to West Philly when she went to University for that same reason... she's been robbed twice. They're morons. I have no sympathy for people like that. The ghetto shouldn't be a trendy cool place to live.

The people who actually live there are POOR. They don't want to live there, it's not their choice. But these stupid students come in thinking it's cool, they leave after they graduate and go on to become yuppies. But they think they have some added life experience because they lived there.

Morons.

The really funny thing is that in a lot of these areas where hipsters move to, business follows. Case in point, Downtown Los Angeles. Ten years ago, this was where all the hipsters were moving into lofts and trying to live the bohemian lifestyle. Well, shortly after they moved in, developers started buying up all the surrounding buildings and turning them into high rise apartment buildings. So the hipsters moved a bit north by Dodger Stadium. This is where all the movie stars in the 1910-1930 era lived, so they are old houses that are really beautiful and well built, but in a crappy area. The hipsters moved in, drove rent prices up, and now there are starbucks all around. Hipsters are like a plague. I think the only cure to the hipster plague is Sonic Youth. I think they can defeat them.

Thats funny... as you wrote this Mott the hoople came on the radio, and then that kind of reminded me of Juno... which reminds me of sonic youth... it's all relative... or maybe I'm just a dork.

LoL, it is all relative. Or is it that the plan has already begun. Spreading Sonic youth over the airwaves to drive the hipsters out.
