Well the sink is 98% complete. Hubby and FIL found out that the original pipe from the old sink won't work with the new sink... all after already going to the hardware store. So hubby is going to finish the installation today. It sucks not having a sink at all, but it is very pretty and almost there!

Ugh...I hate that when that happens..lol. I lived in an older home back in BC...( built right after the 2nd WW.) I was afraid of doing some reno's as I knew I'd probably open up a can of worms, and it would cost a whole lot more than I planned. Which is sad, cause that bathroom needed to be blown up, and rebuilt!

I keep wondering what the new owner is doing to it though...

1 can tell one is in Saskatchewan when:

1) 60% of vehicles on the road are trucks

2) its 0700 on a Monday morning and rush hr doesn't start for another 50 min and only lasts for 10 minutes

3) You go for a run and other runners actually wave back

4) You drive thru a small town and every one waves to you!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

One of the things Yvonne's looking forward to in Rochester versus Toronto... pretty short rush hour (not 10 minutes, but not hours and hours either). :)

Soooo I just got back from a job interview. I think it went well, but it seems like they're interviewing a million people. He said he'll call late next week if they decide to do a follow up interview, so I just need to wait I guess. I'd be surprised if they didn't want to do a second interview, but we'll see, you never know.

Good luck on your job search, Huggles!

I just got feedback from one job I applied for: Senior Business Advisor. They got back to me and told me my experience was too narrow and that they would have to put alot of training resources to get me up to speed with the business methodology they adopted. Hrmph! Whatever. Anyhoo, the rejection was very easy to take because I wasn't that interested in a new job right now (my pregnancy is top of mind).

I under the impression I need a follow up interview as well. As for the rest of the town here? thumbdown-smiley.gif Retail is hard to get into...

On the positive side today!! Tim just went fishing with a friend of ours..meaning I have the afternoon to myself!! hmmm and I'm on VJ instead of doing some of the major projects I need to do around here. Can you see my priorities?

Speaking of jobs...I'm just about to apply for a job that fits me to a T. It seriously does. Not only am I perfectly matched from an administrative standpoint, it's also a job where my musical background is a major benefit. It's out in Reston, which is about twenty miles away...but the job is really perfect for me. I'd gladly go the distance for it if I get it!

Fingers crossed...

Thanks everyone! It would be a great job if I was to get it, the hours are good, pay is good, and its about a 7 minute drive from home. He said my resume looked, "very good" and he told me I looked good? (is that weird? ahaha) and he seemed interested, but when they're interviewing more than a dozen people, you just don't know who is going to stand out. He said they aren't necessarily looking for someone with a lot of experience because the technology and programming they use is so new, nobody would know how to use it anyway. He also said my Tim Hortons experience would be a big asset... I guess because it's customer service based? I was just impressed he knew what Tim Hortons is

And good luck to you Wyatt!

You just never know with job interviews. I used to think that if you gave great answers to their first couple of questions that they made up their mind then and there. In my experience, it was at that point that they would either move on to ask you more personal questions to get a better feel for you on a personal level, or they would move on and ask you some transitional questions to get you out of the office. That was until my last interview, for the job I currently hold. My interview was less than 2 minutes long, and I thought that I had been given a brush off. I was shocked when I got a call the next day with the job offer.

Okay, so while I was in Canada with Mathew I did ask him about the Passion Flakie thing so we went looking for them while we were in the grocery store. That's one HUGE box!!!

I also withdraw my opinion about Poutine. We went to La Banquise and it was wonderful!!!

Good luck Huggles. I hope you get the job!!!

One bad thing about the situation with Mathew is that there isn't any jobs for engineers in my part of Kentucky. So we'll have to move. But we can't move until he finds a job. It's like an endless circle of uncertainty. To top it off, he can't really take any job just to pay the bills. The longer he works out of his field, he becomes obsolete. Ugh...why are engineers so complicated?

not sure...

I also have dropped about 17 pounds since the beginning of Feb... I haven't been eating great the last few weeks so maybe that is it but I am worried it is something else...

I just want my life to get back to normal :(
