Well my mum is here.

She crossed at Queenston-Lewiston and had a weird experience, she said there was TONS and everyone had get out of their cars and go stand up next to the wall and a big truck x-rayed her car and everyone elses, she said it was being done to everyone. Before she got there to the border there were TONS of security going up to every car, checking their papers, looking in their cars and everything. I've never seen anything like that happen, so found it interesting.

Maybe the "terror alert" was at a high today. :P

Best to head down on a week day if ya can to see the Blossoms. There is the fish market thats downtown, we enjoy going there, then heading out for a picnic by the place where one can rent paddle boats. They can steam ur shrimp, crab legs too!!

2/25 on my roll up the rim thus far. -1C in Stoon, high of 16C forecasted. Big road trip to Prince Albert on Tuesday to get the Toyota Venza serviced. That will be like a 4 XL: tim hortons day.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

We are going next Saturday and just braving the crowds. Last time we came a bit too late and all the blooms were gone... and I worry with all the warm temperature that the flowers will fall.

If its crowded, meh... I just wanna see the flowers, take some pictures, go to a nice little cafe for supper and see fireworks!

We bought Jarlsberg cheese yesterday at Costo cause of a coupon. (I love my mom in law, she always spends money on weird things)

Wow it's really good cheese! 8 bucks for the wedge, but if you compare it to supermarket cheese this is a great price.

I <3 Costco.

She also got a mango cheesecake. Way to make me more fat mom in law :lol:
