Sam, my blood boils whenever I hear things about your home situation. I seriously want to drive down to Orlando and anonymously kick some butts there.

As for the weather here...mmmmmmm...yes, it's so great. I love being able to wear a t-shirt in mid-March! I might go and have a cigar on the balcony later. :)

Leaving for Buffalo in 45 minutes :) Going dress shopping with my bridesmaids YAY! I also get to meet my best friend's baby, oh and see my best friend, I haven't seen her in 5 months!

In some sad news one of our fish is sick. Or he other fish bit him quite a bit :(

We originally wanted to get both Gourami fish at the same time, because we know they can be territorial so if we got them both at the same time they would get the chance to establish their territory together kinda thing. But when we went to the store they advised to get one, and get the other one later so that the first fish can establish his territory. Well that's what we did, just the first fish thinks it's territory is the entire tank. We had to take the poor red fish out of the tank so he doesn't get embarrassed anymore :(

I woke up to a note from my MIL saying that someone left the fridge open a smidge all night, and when she woke up the temperature inside was 67.

I'm waiting on my coffee and the sanity that follows before I begin to decipher what must now be thrown away.

I imgaine apartment living doesn't look quite so appalling now. I really don't think I could have lived with my parents, or in-laws during our first year of marriage. I'd rather live in a dorito bag.

Wasn't my money that I was throwing out... I feel bad, though. My step-FIL tends to overshop (even though I already go shopping for the things I need to cook), and that meant a lot of dairy and meat products ended up going into the trash. I'm happy it's garbage day today, otherwise that food would've been sitting outside for another couple of days.

Living like this isn't easy, sure. We have no other option right now, though. If it wasn't for the fact that I saved every penny while I was working, we as a couple wouldn't have a dime to our name. So until I can start working and building up our savings a bit more... this is the way it is.

And if I happen to find a job that works until just past dinnertime, they'll all have to fend for themselves.

I'd be looking for an afternoon shift lol

Good morning all, sorry to hear about Gene's ears Carla, hope he is feeling a lot better soon!

I think it's different for you Sam than it is for a lot of us, living with inlaws sucks - but! you seem to be handling it well in your own way.

Why not use the money you pay your in-laws in rent to get your own place? Sanity does have a price.

My sisters are RN's as well---every Nurses nightmare, lol but were mellow people and know better to be pain in the butts, lol But that sure isnt the case for many. I hate pts that have family/friends that are in the medical profession, all of a sudden they know everything, but some wont help out at all! oh well, lol

Your dad will get great care then!

I've been on both sides. I have found that if you know your stuff but aren't pushy about it (and try to help) it benefits the family member in the long run. If only to understand the procedures and routine; I always feel bad for those that don't have an advocate. No one will care more for your father than you and your family. :)

Can't imagine we'd be lucky enough to find an apartment for $100/month. My sanity is worth a fair bit, yes, but having cable/internet/food/utilities/etc is worth me grinding my teeth for the next little while.

And yes, TM, afternoon shift will be perfect, heh.

Sarcasm aside, i'm sure that your income can afford more than $100 per month......

I totally know where you're coming from Sam. I lived with Bill's parents from June until the end of February of this year. It wasn't an ideal situation, absolutely not, but it wasn't as terrible as one may think. They were a little more intrusive then I would have preferred, especially when it came to money. They would always ask us how much we spent when we would go buy things, like it was any of their business. And, I often got conned into doing things like you had to do today... like doing the dishes when my MIL would leave them sitting on the counter for 3 days, constantly dog sitting, or helping out with their family business for little to no pay. But, at the same time, the money we saved while living there was fantastic. If it wasn't for that 8 months we spent in the in laws house we wouldn't have been able to buy a house this early in our marriage. So it was definitely worth it in the end.

No sarcasm was meant, Rob, but no, we cannot afford any more of a payment than that at this time. My hubby's salary is not where it should be due to wage freezes, and until I have something comparable, it just isn't an option.

Yep I know exactly where you're coming from too, when my wife first moved to the States we lived with my parents for about six months. She got a job after about a month or two of getting here and we just started saving up money, got her a car, all that kinda jazz that needs to be done. Once we realized we'd have enough money to not take a huge dip in our lifestyle, such as having cable tv, having the internet, being able to afford to go out here and there, my wife started looking for apartments and then we moved out.

I'm sure once you get a job and are making all the benjamins everything will work out :) Good luck to you!!

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

Good morning. Was the UTI the cause of your stomach upset Marilyn? Or are you still awaiting the results from that? Hope you're feeling better soon.

no, the doctor said they are most likely separate issues...

I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow to go over all the test results etc...
