Congrats, Wyatt! I am so happy for you! You're all packed up and ready to go, huh?

Well, mostly. I've got to load my car still...but that won't take long. Almost all of my stuff has been sitting in boxes in the spare room at my parents' home since late November anyhow. I numbered and prioritized every box with A, B and C and have a corresponding Excel spreadsheet with inventory details. When I moved from my apartment back to my parents' place at the end of November, I did a "trial run" of what I would be able to fit in my car for the big move to D.C....and was able to get all of my priority A and B+ boxes in, along with my music keyboard, surround sound system and a few other things. So that pretty much covers all the important stuff -- books, CDs, DVDs, clothes etc. Anything that's a B or C priority would be like textbooks or linens etc. Stuff that I really don't need to bring with me. I sold all of my furniture back in November, so I've pretty much just got a car full (though I DO mean full) worth of stuff to bring with me.

My father installed some air shocks in my car a couple of weeks ago, which will basically compensate for the extra 500 pounds -- you pump them up with pressurized air and they act like an extra set of springs. So I won't be low-riding or bottoming out on the way there either.

Yeah, I've got good parents. We're quite different from one another in most ways, but there has always been that solid foundation of love, loyalty and support for each other, which is all one can really hope for from family, isn't it? They're basically my only two family members. Sure, I have a sister, two uncles and a grandmother...but they don't really have any bearing on my life. And I have no love for my sister, as has been documented in the Vent thread.

Now that I'm leaving I think about all the things my parents have done for me / helped me with throughout the years. I think I'm going to buy a "thank you" card today and tell them not to open it until I'm gone.

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

1/ Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2/ Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3/ Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

4/ Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

5/ Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6/ That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7/ Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome'. That will bring on a 'whatever').

8/ Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F--- YOU!

9/ Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response, refer to # 3.

LOl ok this is soo me..well aside from teh 5 mins thing :P

I don't know if any of you remember that car insurance ####### we went through last month..... well, I have been wondering why we haven't got our bill yet for this month seeing as how it is due in a few days so I called them up and the lady said, "oh you don't owe anything until April 11th"... she mentioned something about a credit or something.. so I guess they did credit us the money from the other car... that was some good news... :D

I never use the "Gimmie 5 minutes" line because I'm always ready before my husband is!

He puts things off until the last moment then gets ready
