Nice Charles! Thanks you!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Just drove 5 hrs to Wheeling West Virginia just for TIM HORTONS!!!! yep chil for a bit with my coffee, then back to DC,lol coffee does not quite taste the same but pretty close. Better than the RI Timmies! Plus this Store looks exactly like the Timmies back in Canada, where as the RI timmies have a yellow siding. I better win something onthe roll up to rim to win!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Lol, that's hardcore, Flames! Though I confess I once drove 4 hours to my favorite lunch place so I completely understand sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do!

That`s hilarious!

I had a Timmies double-double and a muffin this morning before my interview...and I`ll be damned if it wasn`t the best coffee I`ve ever had at Tim Hortons. Seriously, it tasted WAY better than the Timmies back in Vancouver. I thought there was a tad of irony to it though: the day I finally get a great Timmies coffee is the day I`m approved to move to a (mostly) non-Timmies country. :P

WHOA theres a Tims in WHEELING???

Go figure, eh?

My father wants to attend a boat race in Wheeling at some point. It`s kind of funny hearing him talk about all the things he wants to do in that part of America now that he knows I`ll be living there.

So last night was parent teacher interviews at my sons school. My sons teacher said mostly positive things about Ethan except she asked me if I had seen his book report and then his test on the book report. I had seen the report but not the test.

Anyways he wrote a book report for the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. He got an A on it... it was well written, full of analogies and he got pretty deep in talking about it, but didn't get into any big details. Then on the test, he got a D because he couldn't answer any of the questions.

What happened?

We called Ethan in to explain what had happened and he just flat out told us: "I didn't read the book... I just listened to the discussions"

So he never read the book...

He took class discussions and basically made up his own version of coles notes, wrote a great book report but when it came to the test and answering specific questions he couldn't do it.

I am sorry but I know it's wrong that he didn't read the book, but I find it sort of funny he grabbed an A on the report anyways. I didn't tell him that though. :P

Now he has to read the book this weekend and re-take the test on Monday... he won't get full marks for it but she is going to give him another chance. When he left the room, she looked at me and said: "How clever.."
