6 months worth of salary?! Damn! That's absolutely insane. It may seem fantastic at the time (to her, not to most others...) But once she marries her man his debt now becomes her concern as well and I imagine he'd be paying for that for many years to come! You can fund an entire college education for less, geez.

I love orange juice. I could drink it for every meal everyday, but it gives me massive acid reflux... I've developed a new love affair with Tang. It has a similar taste (well not really but its orange flavored) but it doesn't bother my digestive system. I also love orange Fanta.

Have any of you tried the new and improved Dominos pizza yet? I've never been a big fan of Dominos but I'm curious if they have actually improved the taste of their food or its just a marketing ploy.

My fiance and I are going to try the new and improved Dominos pizza soon.

I actually liked the old pizza, but maybe it was different tasting in Canada.

On another note, my friend want's a ring that adds up to a 6 month salary. Maybe that's why she's still single.

Maybe fate will be cruel, she'll get 6 months of salesman's 100% commission salary in a recession. :P

@lgg - I grew up in Hay River. My dad's whole side of the family still lives there. Yellowknife is beautiful, especially in the summer. But the flies and mosquitoes are insane. HR is no better.

6 months salary! That's ridiculous!

I have a friend from college whose dad lives in Hay River, She never lived there but visited there freuqently. Hay River looks beautiful from the pictures I have seen! She grew up near swift current,sk with her mom.

The WIL wanted an 8k engagement ring from my BIL. Sad to say, they are still engaged... but she is ring-less. BIL wont even buy her a 200 dollar ring or any ring at all. :P

I dont have an 8k ring, but I truly love mine as my husband spent an entire afternoon looking at every jewelry store to find it :)

On the other side of things, we just got home from spending the night with the parental-in-laws. My MIL bought the FIL a Wii for Christmas and so hubby and I went on a marathon bowling competition against them last night. That game is SO MUCH FUN. I also tried the boxing component and actually perspired. I think maybe we would consider getting that in the future...

Finally married... and still married... ;)

We had Domino's new pizza last week, and I was in love with it! It's strange...I don't tend to notice changes in food so much, yet my husband will notice the slightest difference in his food (if I add a sprinkle of pepper to this or salt to that, he knows.) So when I noticed the change in flavor of the pizza and he didn't I was kind of baffled.

The garlic butter that they've added is the most obvious (and delicious) difference I noticed. They also changed the sauce a bit, though I didn't notice until I logged onto their website while eating it to see what they'd changed with the crust and read that they had changed the sauce a bit too. To me, it has more zing now...also a nice change :)

Grr...now you have me craving pizza <_<

Ooh, I'm glad to hear that it's good.

Now I want pizza for dinner

There's a 2 medium 2 topping pizza deal for like 12 bucks here right now, it seems pretty sensible.

Never been--but there is a "Boston pizza" in Waldorf MD! But its not called boston pizza, but have been told its the same restaurant, just a different name!!! maybe some one on here wil recall it!

this may be it: http://www.bostonsgourmet.com/?q=bostonsgourmet_menu

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Thanks Misty! I think I would notice too. I've always found Dominos a little meh, so maybe it will be worth a try. Sorry you're craving pizza...

I definitely miss Boston Pizza! We had one right by the university, so it was the spot for friends to hang out and meet after those late classes. I guess the best thing to compare it to down here is Champs, but I'm not really sure if they have good pizza or not. The ambiance and feel is just similar.

I was thinking that exact same thing earlier today ... I read a post somewhere else on VJ about someone really missing food from their home country and I thought to myself, "Man, I can totally see myself making a post like that ..."
