Have YOU seen Paranormal Activity? If so, you'd be freaking out by now. :P

But yes...Nev...regarding that movie,

I know! It bugged me that more wasn't made about the Ouija board too. Then again, Micah was quite a douche...I just hate those stereotypical men who think they can take care of everything. I actually didn't buy that someone would be able to react like he did to those circumstances...it felt like acting to me. I think SHE did a great job, but in the face of such events, I don't think a guy like Micah would be able to be that macho. Not if he cared about his girlfriend, that is. You're right about the whole standing over the bed thing though -- that was probably the creepiest part! Now tell me...why did they always sleep with the door open in the first place? I thought that was sort of strange throughout the entire movie.

I have no clue! It was so strange... I would sleep with the door closed and the lights on and I would have bolted that attic door shut! I can't sleep with the door open but I know some people who do. He was a douche, and sorry he got what he deserved in the end because she begged him to stop. As soon as he found that photo of her in the attic I was like: "Omg get out of that place!" It was pretty realistic though. Not that I have ever dealt with demons, but it wasn't cheesy or anything like other some movies.

Yeah, when I lived on my own I slept with the door open, and will probably do so when I get down to D.C. But in THAT situation? No way, man! I agree that the movie was quite realistic though...done naturally enough that even those people who firmly don't believe in demons / hauntings (I don't "believe" in them, but I keep an open mind to the faint possibility) could be sufficiently creeped out. The film's greatest strength is its simplicity, I think. There's an understated power to cinema verite.

Ever seen the French movie Man Bites Dog? Great film. It's about a small film crew that follows around a charming, intelligent serial killer. I think you'd like it.

so the nice folks at the dealership fixed the brakes on the car and also fixed the funny noise I was hearing when I started the car (the motor mounts were loose or something)

we didn't ask them to do this but they also replaced all but one of the hubcaps... one of the original hubcaps fell off and we couldn't get it back on.. at least it looks better now then having one hubcap missing.. we are going to try and see if we can find a hubcap that is similar to the other ones..

this was all at their cost...

we do have a 2 month warranty though that covers the engine and transmission... they would pay 50%

Will have to look for it. Thanks for the recommendation.

My husband didn't believe in that stuff at all, then he moved in with me in Midland, and we always had strange things happen in that house. But as soon as my husband arrived things happened more often. I don't think whatever was in that house liked him one bit. Anyways my husband was so scared a lot of the time. Things would happen and he'd grab me and hide behind me

Sure that kind of stuff creeps me out, BUT I it doesn't really scare me per say. I mean when the lights would turn on, or faucets would turn on at night or doors would slam shut, I'd be the one to get up and fix it.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat, Sprail. Like I said before, I'm not easily spooked. There WAS one time that I was in a recording studio and had a strange experience though. The studio DID have a reputation for being haunted, though I'll admit that a few studios have that distinction. Anyhow, I was recording a track on a vintage Steinway grand piano late at night, and it was just me in the studio portion and my friend, Brandon, the studio's in-house engineer, in the control room. I usually like things VERY dark in the studio...so all the lights were off, and I think I had a single candle lit so that I could actually see my hands. :P Well...during one of the takes, I happened to look towards one of the isolation booths (which are typically used for vocalists), and I saw in the reflection of the window the OTHER window above the control room, which was basically an empty room with a couch in it. Well, I think I saw a face in that window. The thing is...that door was always locked, and there shouldn't have been anyone else in the studio other than Brandon and I. There's a good chance it was just my mind playing tricks on me. However, a little later on I went into a little room off to the side of the control room to get a mic stand...and there was the strangest feeling in there. It was that "someone's in here" feeling, if you know what I mean. Quite creepy.

Again, it was probably just my mind playing tricks on me, BUT, just to add a little bit more credence to the story...the studio was truly built a block away from a Masonic cemetery. So who knows?

It was the same studio that Nickelback recorded their two biggest albums at, so I wonder if Chad Kroeger has any stories to share. :P

Yea it was probably something. It's easy for us to try to explain things like that with logic.

Omg did i ever tell you my Chad Kroeger story????

I was standing outside of the horseshoe in Toronto, and this was when they just started to get big and he walked out and I excitedly said: "Omg! Aren't you the guy from nickelback???" and he looked over and smiled and said: "Ya" and started to walk over and then I yelled: "YOU GUYS SUCK!"

And he stopped in his tracks, gave me the finger, called me a "punk a$$ kid" and got into a van.

It's like the time I saw Tom Cochrane with my friends at Science North on a class trip in grade 8 and we were sarcastically freaking out, and the security guard was like: "No stay away!" and he was like: "No let the kids have a picture" and in the picture he was smiling and we were all making grossed out faces....

I'm nicer now.. I swear

So I have had this patient a few times this past week, so I had a good feeling of his sense of humor, and his daughter is there as well. I ask what he did for a living and he said he worked for the Government.

I had to give one of his meds rectally!! (Yes, i love my job,lol!)_

So i give this med rectally and he states "wow, you really pushed that one up far!!" I stated "I thought you stated you worked for the IRS!!!" We all had a great laugh over that one!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

That's funny!

I've got a few Nickelback stories... My favorite is a second-hand one through a drummer I used to be in a band with, but I find it hilarious:

So back in 1999/2000 or so, Chris (the drummer I played with) was in a drum store in downtown Vancouver. He wasn't really well-known then like he is now, but he did do his fair share of drum purchasing. So anyhow, there's a guy up at the counter in the drum section who is talking to the music store clerk, and they're yakking for awhile. Chris was waiting to get a drum tuner for a snare drum he was planning on buying, but the clerk wasn't paying him any attention. So Chris goes back to the snare drum and starts banging on it a bit. Finally the clerk comes over, all pissed off, and the guy at the counter leaves. The clerk says to Chris, "You know who that was that you just got rid of? That was...Ryan Vikedal." Chris says, "Ryan who?" The clerk says, in an awed tone, "The drummer from Nickelback!" to which Chris replied, "Who the ** is Nickelback?!?!?"

I don't know why, but I crack up whenever I think about that... The best part is that Chris is ten times the drummer that Ryan Vikedal is...and is currently heard playing on a hit song on the radio these days too!
