My husband and I decided today that we'd have our fancy, family wedding on our first anniversary next year. The first was just a civil ceremony, so the next one will be the one I'm wearing the dress for. Of course, dress = losing weight, haha. Thirty pounds will be plenty for me I guess, and I'll be cheering you all on as I try too. Congrats on the weight loss Marilyn!

I just wanted to mention, and maybe see if others feel the same? We went to the Blues vs the Leafs hockey game on Friday night. A wonderful, wonderful singer sang both National Anthems. It's rare, that I get to hear the Canadian National Anthem anywhere here, so I was delighted the last time, and this time to hear it again. There were MANY people in the crowd signing both anthems as well, which I found so nice. They had the words up on the jumbo screen, so maybe that's why people sang along. Anyway, the whole time the anthem is playing I'm crying. Just bawling my eyes out. I get so overwhelmed when I hear it. I always did, even in Canada, but never cried like I do now.

This happen to anyone else while here?

Yes but not at hockey games... I have had a lump in my throat though.

When they raised the flag and last night at the Olympics and sang Oh Canada, I cried... luckily I was in my room watching tv alone.

The homesickness never does leave does it. *big hugs*

Enjoy your holidays, Carla! Yes, I get teary-eyed and a lump in the throat when I hear "Oh Canada" sung as well. I don't think I will ever lose that.

I started Weight Watchers on line end of November wheh my daughter told me i was going to be a grammie (I am 44) Since then, I have lost 24 lbs and I can really feel a difference!! Baby is due July...so I have a goal!!

I am home with my husband finally (POE was Feb 11) and looking forward to getting into a good fitness routine. My husbad likes to walk, but dislikes walking with me. (he says I walk way too fast!! ...he is 6'4 and I am 5'2..and apparently my short little legs go way too fast!!!) So we have decided to join the Y or a gym so we can have our 3x a week walk on a treadmill...that way we can each go our own pace!

I got a bit ambitious yesterday and took Briar, my 7 month old Border Collie for a walk....decided that heading to Starbucks would be a good destination...didn't realize that the round trip was 6.7 miles!!! HOLY COW!1 my hips and feet ached when I got home!! (But I am thinking of doing it again today!! LMAO!!)

Anyway...maybe we should start a Weight loss support thread??????

Good morning all and thanks for the coffeee Carla, we have missed you around here!

wtg Zans, I see you started your thread, good luck!

I am just doing bits and pieces around here all day, packed a few things up yesterday. While moving 11 kms is a bit easier than moving to Florida, things still have to be covered and wrapped!

Oh Carla you are not the only one! I never used to get emotional @ the Canadian anthem, but after residing in the US I am more proud than ever to hear Oh Canada! I bawled my eyes out watching the anthem sung @ the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. I did not like the way it was sung however but it was still very emotional to watch.
