Apparently the whistler track is INSANE and there will be crashes.

Sooo being the sicko I am, I will be watching all bobsleigh and luge events...

That's horrible. So I wonder, is this particular run unusual - for the number of accidents they have had already.

That's just scary.

Scary? Maybe. But I think it's great! I don't know, but I think if you're accustomed to going 140 KpH on a tiny board with runners, you've already resigned yourself to the fact that you're taking your life in your hands. Another 13 KpH just ups the ante slightly.

People willingly get on to these sleds and propel themselves down feet first or FACE first... I bet most of the lugers are thrilled at the prospect of setting a world record.

It sucks that a Georgian luger died...but he died doing what he loved the most on the fastest luge track in the world.

Nah - some of us ski-jump instead. (Along with ice-skating and hockey). Still, this is a tragedy and I hope the predictions for this luge track don't come true.
