You're welcome and good luck! Am going to PM you with a few others...

Same here. Just waiting for either the tree in my front yard to come crashing through our front windows or the power to go out. :help:

Scott, you want to come over and shovel my walk as well?

Will pass, lol I was going to go out and shovel, but with the high winds, there really is no use! I dont work till Friday night, fridge is full of beer, I'm good to go!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I've got to get more Tegan and Sara. I still only have So Jealous.

I'm planning on going to my favorite CD store in Vancouver (Zulu Records) and doing a CD binge after my interview but before my cross-continent drive. I'll be sure to get something else by T&S then!

By the way...anyone picked up Massive Attack's Heligoland yet? I bought it when it came out yesterday (like...ten minutes after the store opened :P) but only managed to listen to the first four tracks in my car. I'm making a point of going for a drive just to hear the rest of them today! The first track is TOTALLY like a TV on the Radio song...mainly because it's also sung by Tunde Adebimpe. Track four blew my mind. The second and third tracks were so so. I'll probably post more of a report later today. ;)

I am going to suggest you get "the con" but if you want to go back in time a bit get "if it was you" their newest album is great too... ahh get them all! It's not a binge if you don't get them all!

I did that when I first discovered the Pixies haha... bought every single cassette.

Donne moi une poptart!

That's like when I discovered Nina Nastasia. I bought one album...then managed to find her other two at the same location a week or so later, so bought them at the same time.

I still love Nina. She's awesome. You should check her out. I think you might like her. Start with her first album, Dogs. Everything about it is great...right down to the Steve Albini production. *drool*

Hope its fab Sprai! :star:

Spirit and I were talking about you yesterday, and your descriptions of NJ. We were laughing hysterically.

I am officially on vacation  The cats love Spirit and that makes me happy cause they usually get stressed out and sick when we leave them with anyone.

Thanks for the coffee Carla!

Oh that's cool MrsCat - i'm not surprised they like Spirit :)

It's great you two got to meet up - when do you leave for Edmonton?

Not ashamed to say I adore Spirit too, she's one of the most interesting and genuine people I have ever met. :star:

Chris and I are leaving the Big Island today, spend the night in Honolulu and leave for Edmonton tomorrow. My mother is busting out of her pants with excitement.

Eh, was worth a shot. Just got in from shoveling front and back. Looked at the cars and said no way! Is definitely windy out there!

And of course just as I finished, Derek got home from work. Figures!

Chalk that up to another reason to like living in an apartment complex!

Mind you, our building doesn't have underground parking, apparently...just a small covered parking area that costs a lot more per month. <_<

Good point! At my last apartment in Burnaby, I paid $15 per month for underground parking with an assigned spot. I miss that already...

Lol My neighbor gave me the stink eye as I was clearing my car off this morning to go to work while he was snow-blowing his snow. It was still snowing this morning around here so I wasn't about to wake up before work to shovel only to have to do it again after I get home from work :) He's made comments before that "I have to do my part" so maybe I'll write my name in his snow while I'm working on it tonight Lol.

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

Poor Varba! Its actually kinda funny picturing him in a ski mask to be perfectly honest...

To be completely random, Bill and I took his sister to an Avalanche game on Monday for her birthday and it was basically awesome. We had third row seats across from the Avs bench by the penalty box. I have been to a million hockey games but that was the coolest experience by far! I kept having interesting exchanges with Wolski  he kept looking over at us just before face offs, which I found far more amusing than It should have been. Then in the third he shot the puck really hard at the glass in front of me and I screamed and jumped (it was pretty startling!) and then he looked at me and started laughing. Then Stasny started laughing too. Totally hilarious and fun! Bring that close to the action was awesome.

Just thought I'd share :P

All of you dealing with the wicked winter storm have my sympathy - and I don't think I'm going to get much sympathy in return :P . We are at the southern edge of what you're getting - really strong winds and bitterly cold temperatures for us - yes in the twenties again overnight and windchills well below that. This is the coldest winter Atlanta area has had since 1983. It was snowing this morning at 7 am when I took the feral mother cat (oh hurray, I actually was able to trap her last night around 10 pm!) to be spayed at the low cost mobile spay/neuter clinic this morning. I wore my winter coat but not the right shoes and my feet were like ice standing around waiting for the clinic to open doors. All business is conducted outside so I left the cat in the car while I waited - probably the warmest she has been for a while. Anyway, the forecast is more of the same over the next few days. The cat is back home after her surgery and recovering in the garage. I've set up a sheltered box for her inside a dog cage so she is confined and hopefully will be warm enough with all the blankets and such in the box and over the cage. She was pregnant as I expected but it would have been very hard on her to have kittens in this sort of weather and they would probably not have survived so it is much better this way. Another feral in the colony done - the ones that hang around the yard mainly are now all neutered. Time to start working on the others in the colony.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
