You sound so energetic today, me...not so much  My Husband changed shifts, 3, 12 hour days then 3 days off. I couldn't get back to sleep this morning and I had stayed up late.

I lived in Singapore as my Dad worked in southeast asia on offshore oil rigs.

Good morning everyone! * yawn* puppy usually doesn't wake me up this early! 6:30 am he was scratching at the bed! Usually he's good for another hour!

Update on the job situation.... I am set up to start march 1st at a place for youth. Got 2 phone calla yesterday for 2 other jobs I applied for, 1 a denial they chose someone else and 1 an offer for a position working with adults. So I have a few phone calla to make... To accept the one offered yesterday and decline the other i am set up to start. Needed a day to think about pros and cons because of pay, commute and different type of hours..

I should be in trainig as early as next Tuesday! Now just have to rush to get all the preemployment tests done... Yay.... Another drug test....

We got about 2 inches yesterday which melted by the end of the day, AFTER I shoveled the driveway. Blistery, windy, and cold today though. You guys always get more snow than us!

Still snowing here in the DC area and very windy! White out conditions at time Im sure!! Chill for a bit, then go shovel some more snow~

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

TM: I think Im energetic because Ive been basically eating and sleeping nonstop in the middle of this snow storm! Theres nothing else to do  I go to bed at 9 pm and get up at 8 am!!!

There IS that occasional shovelling... but I dont really shovel. I stand there and play with the snow, taking pictures of my husband, hehehehe. My reasoning: we women do all the birthing, so its only fair that the men do the shovelling!

Minnew: Congratulations on your work!!! Best of luck to ya!

It's pretty incredible... City of Alexandria is still in a State of Emergency. Blizzard conditions with 45 MPH winds.

People worldwide think of Canada as being a cold and snowy country...but it has been in the 40s and 50s in Vancouver for a few weeks now, as will be internationally evident starting on Friday...

60 inches of snow in the DC Metro area over the last week? Insane.
