I'll take snow any day over my house getting flattened my mudslides, falling off cliffs or the threat of an earthquake! lol

I've always wondered why people outside of the westcoast say that. We get a major earthquake once or twice per century, meanwhile, hurricanes and blizzards slam the east coast every single year, sometimes multiple times. The midwest gets tornados and floods seems like each year. I'll take my bi-centenial earthquake anytime :P

Alright, so Leroy, my parents' wonderful 5-year-old black lab (whose picture is currently on the VJ Facebook page), has always had a stuffed toy sheep. I mean, both dogs (the other one, Fergie, is a 7-month-old long-haired dachshund) have a slew of stuffed toys...but for whatever reason, Leroy has always been attached to his stuffed sheep.

Well, his last one was ripped beyond repair awhile ago, so we've been on the lookout to find another sheep worthy of Leroy's attentions. I finally found one today, so bought it and brought it home for him. I handed it over to him and he was so excited...happy eyes, tail wagging furiously... I swear, it HAS to be a sheep for him to love it!

Anyhow, Fergie totally felt snubbed, so I gave her one of her many stuffed squeaky toys...but she was NOT interested. She only wanted Leroy's sheep. So after a few minutes of playing with Leroy, tossing him the sheep and seeing the sheer joy on his face, I came upstairs, bringing Fergie with me. When I wasn't looking, she went downstairs and somehow managed to get the sheep away from him (remember...she's a miniature dachshund, he's a black lab). I saw her running up the stairs with it in her mouth, so I went and took it away from her and returned it back to Leroy. As of this writing, she is staring daggers into me. She is PISSED OFF that I gave the sheep back to Leroy. She keeps looking from me, to Leroy at the bottom of the stairs, and back again. Words can't explain just how obvious it is that she is jealous and mad as hell! I keep saying, "Come here, Fergie! C'mon girl!" and she just looks at me with utter derision. It is absolutely freaking hilarious!

Just had to share. :D

Back from the chiropractor and the market. My chiropractor is very excited for us moving to DC. lol. He loves it there. It is pouring down right now.

They're closing my work for 1 day for sure, maybe 2. Friends and family back home can laugh all they want, they're still off to work when 10 feet falls... I'll take a snow day over a work day ANY DAY :D

Ooooooh, I LOVE snow days!! They're the equivalent of playing hookie but without the guilt!

Ok so counting up places I have lived - I have 31, I don't think I have missed any, but i'm not sure.

Whoa. That's a lot of places, Trailmix. Can we have that broken down by country; state/province; and city, please? :)

Finally got my pics uploaded in this uber slow computer. It was a big snow storm :P

Excellent pics, darkchilde! Thank you!

That's hilarious. But you are a very irresponsible brother. Don't you know you can't buy one child a toy and not the other? Shame on you!

No matter where we go... we're screwed.

I KNEW we got more thunderstorms and lightning strikes than back home! Everything else is pretty low risk, but I swear, every storm there are houses here struck by lightning and catching fire. Back in Ontario anything getting struck by lightning was a rarity and I can count on one time hearing about lightning starting a fire. I wondered if it was because lightning was more severe here or that area was more densely populated. Now I know. Hmm. I might prefer an earthquake . . .

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
