I celebrated my engagement with my fiancee and her family during the Xmas holiday but before I left to see her a started to gather my papers and notorize certain documents so that when I return we can file in February. But she has to go away to her province of birth to get certain documents example: BAPTISMAL RECORDS etc. Getting some of these papers will take some time. My question is, will the embassy accept my notorized papers and hers even if she has hers prepared and notorized many months after mine in our petition packet. Or do they want everything with current notary dates. All from 2010 not some from 2009 and others from 2010. :help:

re-check the I-129F evidence requirements... what you listed above (BAPTISMAL RECORDS) is not needed for the petition filing. What other evidence is she gathering?

YMMV

And while you're rechecking, see if you actually see a need to notarize anything. I doubt you will. In any event, singnature dates need not be current. Letters of intent should not have a signature date that precedes your in-person meeting though.

For the I-129f petition...

1. USCIS does not require anything to be notarized

2. It does not matter when the papers were collected.

3. Your fiancee needs ONLY

a. Sign a G-325a

b. Sign a fiancee letter of intent (the one from this site works great)

c. A passport styole photo

d. Any divorce documents (if any)

THAT IS ALL. A baptismal certificate is never needed in this process. Her birth certificate will be needed for the interview.

If a document is needed for the petition, it must be sent with the petition. if it is not needed it is not necessary to send it. Sending unnecessary documents does not help your case in any way

FYI, there ARE South American countries and perhaps others who DO request a baptismal certificate at the Consulate stage but there is a way around that for non-Christians. Manila does not request one though.
