Yeah we met in Dubai in July actually. We talked earlier and decided that we'll meet again in a couple months. It's been 6 already since we've seen each other and we're both going crazy from it.

So he got the fiance visa and you were married in the US and did he stay and apply for immigration, or did he go back to UK? Well, I suppose I can look at your profile to get an idea of that. I will do that now...

he has been here two years now. He came here we got married here, and then we applied for change of status , then for removal of conditions. He now has his ten year green card.

Hey Jenn, I think that it depends on where you are coming from and who the person who interviews your fiance is. I was really worried about this (like freaking out) and my fiance from Argentina just got approved for his tourist visa today! (btw- he DID list me as his fiance on the forms and he is staying 3 months, the longest time possible for him without an extension) Your fiance being from Pakistan, it may be more difficult- but I know that it can happen! We are waiting for our K-1 Visa to get processed and so he's coming here on a tourist visa to hang out and take care of me for a couple of months, and then he is going back to Argentina until we are approved for the K-1 and he can come as an immigrant. The key is to have substantial proof that he will not stay. THey view you as an immigrant until proven otherwise. Bank records, a stable job, etc. are good.

Thanks to those who have offered advice. I appreciate you taking the time to try to help out.

To BRB - my fiance has never wanted to immigrate here. I know that from other people's perspectives, marriage fraud can always be a possible motive, but I would bet my life and the life of every member of my family that it isn't his motive whatsoever. Thanks for trying to help, though.

To the person who said something about how I can't be this naive - Well, I visited a very successful attorney a month ago and he didn't raise any concerns about applying for a visiting visa, so I guess I assumed we have as good a chance for success as people from other countries.

I am really depressed now. I have depression anyway and this visa situation is killing me inside. I think my fiance and I may meet in a third country to visit and get married, if possible. And then apply for a K3. I have no idea if we'll do it - that's just what I'm thinking right now.

I'm very angry and upset by this stupid visa/immigration #######. If this forum weren't public, I'd go into detail.

Til we meet again.

Jenn, take a deep breath.

This is a process. It's far from perfect but its the system in place and until it's fixed, it's the only one with which we have to work.

Your concerns about your partner's feelings and your own, concerning the relationship should be addressed to the two people who really know what's best for them: you two know what's best for you, no strangers online.

Do something kind for yourself today: log off of the forums, and initiate some solid research. K1, K3 and IV.

Attention to detail and patience will negate the need for an attorney who will over charge you and perhaps give you incomplete information.

Most importantly, try to support one another as much as possible. It will be a very trying journey, but you both know what is true for you, not anyone else.

There's lot's of solid advice out there for your unique situation. Stay close to the .gov cites and look for cases resembling yours. Stay positive.
