Hey all... I've tried to look through people's signatures, but I can't find anyone else in my position.. if there is anyone out there.. let me know!

I just checked my online bank account this morning, to see that the check for $1010 was cashed last night (yay!) for the I-485 but not the one for $355... The MSC number on the back isn't working online either. I can't tell if one of the digits is a 1 or an I.

Feeling excited and worried all at the same time. Should I worry about this?

I know the cheque for $1010 was for Adjustment of Status, Advance Parole and EAD, what was your cheque for $355 for? My number on the back didn't work for a couple days after the cheque was cashed. MSC and the rest are all numbers on mine.

Not to worry, it's happened before. A few of my fellow October filers had this happen. They might split up the I-130 and the I-485 once it gets to the office so it's possible that it's processed by different people. That would explain the delay

It was for the I-130 that I had filed. Okay, I'll check online sometime next week...give it a few more days to process :)

Whew! Thanks for the reassurance. I was starting to get anxious. I'll give it a few more days and hopefully I'll see something in my bank account soon.

I feel like I have the NEED to check every 2 minutes to see what has changed or updated.. It's like waiting for Christmas as a child! I'll just breathe... and actually get back to work.

Thanks again!

I was so happy when I could actually go online and look at my case, but now..a month later it still hasn't changed. It still says they received it and will let me know if they need anything. Nothing else has been updated on it..but I did receive biometrics appt and an RFE and still nothing changed on the website, still says they received it and thats it. I called the 1-800 # and was told that the immigration officer is not obligated to keep it updated. Just wanted to let you know in case you don't see anything happening on it. Take care.

Don't worry! I've seen this on a lot of past profiles, also they don't cash the I-485 check unless they've accepted the I-130 as the I-485 is invalid without it... So looks like they've accepted your forms and you won't have to wait too much longer for NOA's and the other check to clear.

Were the checks from different banks by any chance? In our group a lot of people's checks didn't show up as cleared until days after they were cashed depending on the bank. Mine showed up a day after they were cashed but other banks took 3 days. Some even got NOA's before they showed up as cleared!

When my checks cashed they processed them electronically with no check info (it varies) so I couldn't get to see a tracking number until the NOA's arrived. The NOA numbers begin MSC and are all numbers. I read the number written on the check isn't always accurate - I believe I read somewhere that adding a `1' may work in some cases!

Fingers crossed for you guys

Hi Marie! Both checks came out of our checking account, and I signed/wrote them both. They were even sequential! I can see my MSC number (i think it's the correct number) and tried it out on the uscis.gov website, but of course it's still not online yet. :)

Your post left me with a HUGE smile on my face as it's good to know that the I-130 and I-485 are well on their way! I can't wait to get the NOAs. Of course I'm moving this weekend (luckily to just another apartment in the same complex) so I'll have to get Kyle to fill out the AR-11. BLAH! I'm hoping I don't have any RFE's. I just want this to hurry up! It does help the winter blah months go by though.

Thanks!

Laura

Fingers crossed for you guys, the waiting totally sucks, but hopefully your case will move a little faster than ours did as there's no holidays in the way to slow things down... NOAs any day now

My other check was cashed! When looking at the back of them, they had actually been cashed on the same day (1/5/10) but had been taken out of my account on different dates. weird, but whatever! Now I have two MSC numbers, but they are in order. :) So now that it was accepted in January, I don't know if I should start as a January filer or not... haha!
