Hi everyone,

I'm nearly at the end of the visa process with my fiance and we're hoping for a Feb/March interview with a POE in June to allow for him to finish work commitments. Our wedding is set for September 11, although we may have our court wedding earlier to fulfill the 90 day requirement.

My concerns are these:

We're making plans to honeymoon in Hawaii where I grew up and going right after the wedding. However, if we apply in June or July, that puts us at the possible timeframe of USCIS sending us an interview date. Now I've read that it's really bad to re-schedule the interviews, especially for what they would consider frivolous.

Yet, if we apply later on, I'm concerned about the expiration of the I-94 and reading all the stories of people being held in detention even if they had their NOA1 and interview letter.

Anyone gone through something like this or have any suggestions or advice?

Thanks :)

A few options:

1. postpone the honeymoon until you know for sure. I know that's not always the best thing to think about.

2. Lets say you apply for AOS 14 June, assuming it takes 3 months that's 14 Sept for the 3 month mark. You really are cutting it kinda close.

3. Fiance arrives June 14, apply for AOS (i.e. send the docs) at the beginning of September, so that you have been married and then "honeymoon'd" before receiving documents. Only issue with that is, if you receive any RFE's while on honeymoon. As long as you have someone opening mail, and able to check "deadlines" you should be able to enjoy your honeymoon and be back in time to send the documents (remember that's IF you get an RFE) and voila!

Personally I like 3 :D
