Cr-1 Canadian rmcp check.

Hello,

I am trying to get my finger prints done for the RMCP But I am currently in York Pa.I will be here for a few months and know that the RMCP will take a while to come back.I was wondering if anyone had been to a police office around this area. If anyone knew anywhere close by that might do it and have the right paperwork.

Also do they take personal checks?

Have you tried calling your local police station? If they cannot help you then ask where you might be able to get this done.

When I needed a fingerprint card, I was able to go to my local police station, it cost me $10 and was done in about 5 minutes

Here is the information from the RCMP about how to get fingerprints done in the US: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/c216-eng.htm

The process is currently taking 120 days http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr-eng.htm

If you return to Canada you can just go into any police station or a local RCMP office and apply for a Canada Wide Police Record check that does not require fingerprints unless you have a criminal record. If you have a criminal record you require a fingerprint search. If you don't, then a name check is sufficient as long as it is Canada wide. Some offices can issue them while you wait and others take a few days. It is much faster and much easier than going through the fingerprint process. There is a minimal charge for this, so you may wish to wait until you return to Canada to obtain your security clearance.

Another quick clarifying question, I am going to get my finger Prints done tomorrow just want to make sure they the RCMP will except FBI card finger prints. As the police station I am going to has never done one for the RCMP

If you are OUTSIDE OF CANADA :

contact the nearest police force which offers fingerprinting services. The RCMP will accept fingerprint forms from foreign countries that contain the following:

rolled and flat impressions of all ten fingers taken with black ink

full name, date of birth and sex of the applicant

the name and address of the police agency

the signature of the official taking the fingerprints

So it sounds like if all those are satisfied from your local police station, you're good to go
