Case Status Online!!!

Just wondering if there is anything I can do to have my status actually updated. It still says received and to follow the steps on the NOA but I have since had a Biometrics letter and an RFE but nothing has changed on the status checker.

I mean what is the point in having this if they never update it?

Can I call/e-mail anybody who will:

a) Be able to do something and

B) Give a ######.

Not had chance to say this yet so

I have an RFE, and that showed up on the website. Maybe call USCIS (their number is on the website) and ask them the status.

Shortcut to talk to a person: hit the button that says you don't know what your case number is.

Also, they won't talk to the USC without the spouse being there since the USC is not the petitioner.

Sometimes that online status is just undependable. Some people can't even get their numbers to be recognized. Some months later finally show up. Others never do. Our online status for AOS still says pending, even though the green card was received last March. I called once and asked USCIS, "do you actually know we got the GC and is it in your records?" She said it's dependent on who works on your case and if they drop the ball and don't update the status, then that's how it shows up online and there's not much to do about it.

Hey Luke & Deanna,

I think that's normal. We applied early November. Both my I-130 and I-485 still say initial review - even though we received our interview letter. Neither has allegedly been touched since biometrics. I wouldn't worry too much though as both my I-131 & I-485 were in initial review no touches in ages then got approved yesterday...
