yes ... weight for more traction and control. plus it makes the vehicle "feel" different acting as a constant reminder that you better pay attention (for those who think 4 wheel drive makes them into super hero's)

Yes, put sand bags or something heavy over the wheel wells to help traction. We don't have a truck anymore, though.

increasing weight will also increase stopping distance, and tire wear. will also decrease fuel economy...

if the roads are that bad, tire wear won't be so much an issue as you're driving on snow and should be taking it easy anyway.

when 4 wheel drive is engaged ... well there goes the gas mileage anyway ...

Too much weight in the bed can cause a problem with steering... the weight needs to be over the rear axel or just in front of it...

some people i know insist on me putting weight on the truck. someone else says it's not necessary. i want to know people's opinion because my answer so far is i don't know and i wanna know.
