Hello All,

I'm a US citizen living (originally born in Lima Peru) in the NY area and I'm marrying my fiancee next week (Jan 15th 2010) and I just wanted to get feedback on what I'm looking at in terms whats the process like and more importantly how long it takes before she's able to come to the US. I've not seek legal counsel yet but its an option I'm considering.

I figure my case its pretty standard, both of us are in our 30's and have never been married or have any children. We have a clean criminal/immigration record. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again and best of luck to all.

K-3 is probably not how you wish to proceed. Read the guides as it relates to CR1

DO NOT bother with a K3... It is a giant waste of $$$ and effort... You want the CR1 .... The process takes about 6-9 months and she will get the Green Card upon entry and be able to work etc... With the K3, it is not any quicker, costs double and you cannot work or travel right away... Pretty much an obsolete visa...

If you check out the guides for CR1 you get an idea of what you need to start... And if you use this site and the guides it is much quicker than a lawyer (since you dont seem to have too many "issues" that would need a lawyer to sift through... save your $$$ and use this site)...

Good luck and welcome!
