Hey,

I am Brazilian and I hve lived in Israel for 4 years . Ive heard that the police certificate may take 4-5 months to arrive from Israel to their Embassy in Brasil.

The Israeli Embassy said they wl forward the certificate to the American Consulate in Rio when the certificate arrives. Question is how will the american consulate know this doc belongs to me? What happens if the doc arrives before tehy know I exist?

Shouldnt I present it at the interview together with all other docs?

Anyone with the same situation?

Oh ok, I see. You will need the PC by the time of the interview. You will have to bring it with you. Don't tell the Israel police to send to RJ. Tell them to send it to you.

Also you may want to check if there is a expiration date on the PC from Israel. I know in Brazil the PCs are valid for 3 months but the Embassy in Rio accepts up to a year.

So if you get yours too early from Israel, they might ask you to get a recent one.

Good luck in your process =)

I also lived in Israel for 2 years. I waited for our case to be forwarded to the US embassy here in Manila before I could file for a request for police clearance at the Israel embassy because they needed a letter from the US embassy. Mine took like 3 months before they finally forwarded it to the US embassy. I kept on calling the embassy until they told me that it's already in their system.

AOS Process

2010-12-30------------Sent I-485, I-765, & I-131

2011-01-10------------Received NOA1 for AOS, EAD, & AP

2011-01-18------------Biometrics letter received

2011-02-07------------Case transferred to CSC

2011-02-10------------Biometrics in Detroit

2011-02-28------------Permanent Resident Card Production Ordered

2011-03-07------------Green Card and Welcome Letter received
