In submitting the N-400, I will send in the IRS tax transcripts for the last three years. Should I include the last three years of State Income Tax forms? We do not have transcripts, so I would have to copy about 6 to 10 pages of the copies we submitted for the last three years.

Thank you in advance. I could not find this answer in my search.

I just sent our federal tax transcripts for the citizenship application. (I had sent copies of the State taxes for Removal of Conditions.) The interviewer was satisfied with just the IRS tax transcripts. The tax transcripts basically show that you have filed as a married couple for those years (whether joint filing or separate it still shows 'married') which is what they which to verify.

Federal tax transcripts are all that is necessary. All of the relevant information on the state tax return is pulled from the federal return anyway.

I would only submit the copy of state return if there was something relevant on it that wasn't on the federal return, but off the top of my head, I cant think of anything.

Same here, since I had those forms on my computer anyway, printed them off and included the state with the federal, had both of our names on it with the state IRS label, wife's IO said, I don't want those. What the heck, felt it was better to have proof rejected than her IO wanting more proof that always can cause a delay.

Can go a little crazy with the USCIS, but if you want proof, we got proof. Still think the green card should be enough proof, you don't exactly get those out of a Cracker Jack box.

Bumping this for an additonal question, did you all send the entire pages of the printout or just the first 2 pages up until the signature/preparer and date? Do I need to include the various schedules?

Not sure about transcripts, we brought in our federal taxes exactly like they were sent into the IRS with all the W-2's and 1099's attached. No problem with that. Even had the IRS label on it.
