Hi

I was wondering if anybody can help me as I am very confused. My German Passport has run out of date and I got married since my old Passport expired.

I am just not sure where I have to send the name change to?

I understand I need to fill out this form: http://www.germany.info/Vertretung/usa/de/...perty=Daten.pdf

But where do I mail it to or what do I do with it?

Somebody told me that when they went to the Embassy they did it there.

Not sure of what to do.

Thanks!!!

My wife went to the Consulate and applied for a new passport. At that time she told them that she wanted to have her name changed to mine. She had to fill out a form and show the marriage certificate as well as her Green Card or work permit (since we didnt have either at the time, we showed them the NOA1s for each) --- They said it would take about 8 months

I just started researching it, too and in my case I understand I have to send it to the Houston Embassy, since that is the one closest to where I live.

It also says to include a certified copy of the marriage certificate and a certified copy of each of our passports (my husbands' and mine).

But I am not completely sure that this is all. Hope it helps!
