So I had my biometrics done today, and promptly decided I want to work there.

My appointment was at 11, the place was packed and at 10:55 my file went to the rear of 9 other files so I figured I wouldn't be seen anytime soon.

There were 8 members of staff wandering around, I'm sure there were more hidden in offices. At any one time there were at least 3 people sitting at the front desk discussing their friends wedding plans, boy were they busy!

The quality controller sighed every time she was called up to check fingerprints, and went out for a ciggie at any opportunity.

Even the security guard kept himself busy sharpening pencils and straightening the chairs. Then he spotted a newspaper that was all crumpled up and instead of straightening it (the only reading material in the waiting room) he passed it to the front desk people and asked them to take care of it... they threw it in the trash!

The entertainment of the whole place made the wait go quicker though, and they were all very friendly.

I couldn't help but overhear a manager-looking guy talk to someone waiting for biometrics and asking if he had a green card. The guy replied no and the manager-looking guy replied "well we'll have to get you one". Maybe I shoulda asked him for one too!

I was tempted to write some sarcastic comments on the comment card but decided better of it, just in case someone with case influence gets to see them!

10 year Green Card received, Next step is citizenship urgh!

When you meet the one you want to spend the rest of your life with,

you can't wait for the rest of your life to begin

Sounds like your experience was a bit more hectic than mine. I went to York, PA for my biometrics and the place is this weird little old blue house next to the Prison! Inside there were a bunch of people waiting around, but I have no idea what for because after filling in my paperwork I was sent straight in to get my prints done (despite being 45 mins early). 20 minutes later and a lot of manhandling of my hands and I'm out of there, tossing the yellow slip in the dustbin like I do all surveys.
