Hello, my mom just had her first and second visit at Saint Luke Medical yesterday and today. She got her xrays done. The Doctor said she has an abnormal xray so she needs to return every day for the next 3 days for swab/saliva tests.

Does anyone have any idea on where this is going? What should we expect from this swab test and why is it daily for 3 consecutive days?

I really appreciate any of your input on this.

Thanks!

Ask the doctor!

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Usually if it shows up in an xray that is a sign that either it is active TB or has been active. That is why they are doing the swabbing. If anything they may put them on medication. Hope all turns out well!!

From the Embassy Info Section at the top of the page, under Philippines

$213.35 for Adults $185.35 for Children. Paid in pesos at St. Luke's. Exchange rate is 50 pesos to 1 dollar.

$213.35 * 50 = 10667.50 Pesos

$185.35 * 50 = 9267.50 Pesos

BTW you're MUCH more likely to get answers when you:

A ) start your own thread, instead of burying your question in an unrelated thread, and

B ) put your thread in a related forum, in this case either the Philippines regional subforum or the K-1 Procedures forum.

Donpobre - so how long after the 3 consecutive days of swabbing and sputum test did your parent find out the results? My parents' interview is scheduled for May 6 but my mom has to go back for 3 days (May 4-6) because they found something in her x-ray. If everything came out negative, will they have to wait for a couple months for their interview or is it going to be scheduled right away?
