Good Evening all and a Happy New Year visa approval for everyone that is sincere.

Here is our situation and if anyone is able to assist or guide or at least ease the pain with some kind words it would be extremely appreciated. My fiance Moko had a interview with the US Japanese Embassy on 12/14/09. I was unable to attend due to work situation in starting a new job and being located in the U.S etc...Obviously she was extremely nervous but she was able to answer all the questions because we were prepared with all the paperwork in this process. (Big ups to everyone that participates in VJ without all your posts and help we would have spent tons of money and probably still be lost). Getting back to the point a flag was pulled during her interview which seamlessly was going well. About 2 years ago before we met she had a issue with this foreigner in Japan he used her details and committed a fraudulent marriage which as soon as she found out she got a divorce. She advised me of the situation but since it was fake and didn't last long she didn't include it in the I-134 app. or any other docs. Now the interviewer switched gears on her and started to get really nasty I guess they thought she was trying to hide it from me and stated they needed to contact me to make sure I was aware also we ordered the Police report papers on our own she went to school in New Zealand so it took awhile to process about 30 days. Come to find out the Embassy are the only one's allowed to order this doc. (in Japan) no matter if we already ordered, so the Embassy had to request her police report details again. They have her passport its been over two weeks since the ordeal they told her they would get ahold of me and make sure I was aware of the Ex-husband and also they would get the police report details. Not sure how long it will take or how they will reach out to me but nothing as of yet. Per Moko she claimed after these documents are in place we would get our visa approval but I wanted just to share our story in case anyone can relate and give us any encouraging words or has any suggestions about our next steps. Like everyone else that is sincere we will do whatever it takes any guidance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and God Bless!!!!!

The embassy keeping her passport is a good sign. They typically don't hold a passport without intending to issue the visa.

Not listing the prior marriage (regardless of the circumstances) was a mistake. That shows potential deception. Now all you can do is be patient waiting for the police report and for the CO to contact you.

Best of luck to you both.
