Hi everybody. Have a quick question for you. I'm nearly done filing out AOS documents for my wife and stepson (K1/K2 visas). The question is: should I write one or two money orders (1610 or 1010 and 600)? Should I sent there packages in the separate mails, or in two folders, but in one mail? Thanks.

I personally would write one cheque and do two separate parcels, but mailed in the same envelope. The reason for that, 1 cheque to track, 1 parcel to track.

GC Update. It gets weirder and weirder. We have heard back from the Senator and she was told that my file is still at the CSC and waiting for the Bio-metrics file, and that there is no change of address on file. #######? Bio-metrics was done on 18 feb, I have received mail from them at the new address and i was told my file was at the Charlotte office 3 months ago over the phone. This is so frustrating!

I just sent in AOS for my daughter & myself...we compiled both our paperwork & wrote one check....it was all then mailed together with ONE cover letter.

Yes you're good in terms of sending everything that's needed BUT it's dependent on the forms you complete as well, as well as income requirements etc and making sure you complete everything correctly. As long as your forms are right, you sign properly (you'd be surprised how many people sign in the wrong spot), your immunisations are fine, and your sponsor meets the requirements, then you should be okay.

This list only shows you what you NEED to send, see the example forms to make sure you complete the paperwork correctly.

Thank you so much for your list! We just sent our packet today! Hopefully all goes well.

Good luck!

I just noticed this yesterday in the forums...apparently me, the Petitioner (Sponsor, US Citizen, husband, however you want to call it) am not required to send in a G325 Biographical Information form like we did when we filed for the I129F...correct? I never knew that..

N-400:

02/21/2015: N-400 sent via USPS Priority Mail to Phoenix, AZ Lockbox

02/23/2015: N-400 received by USCIS

03/03/2015: I-797C, Notice of Action received

03/26/2015: Fingerprints done!

08/24/2015: Notice of Action received, Interview letter!

Yea correct as a K1 it's not required (hence why it's not in my list). If you're applying from a visitor, student or work visa (after marrying a USC) then you would send it with your I-130.

This really helpful information!! thanks alot... but I have few questions please help... I didnt enter USA with Fiance visa and got married here last week... could you please tell me wht papers I have to apply?

Sorry i can't aside from you'll need to file an I-130. You'll need to head over to the "AOS from Student, Work, Visitor" forum as it's for you.

You posted a topic called aos/visitor. I have moved it for you to the correct forum.

also important question about AP (Advanced Parole)...in the spot where it asks you for the date when you plan to leave the country, does it have to be exact? We don't have a set date for when we want to go back this year..

HELP

I sent through my AOS paperwork on the 26th of July and it was received on the 27th of July. I just noticed through another post that there is a new I-485 form released on the 15th of July. I had saved the older version and used that accidently.. I am so upset as now I am worried I will get an RFE and delay the whole process. My visa expires this saturday the 7th of August. Will this cause an issue if i get an RFE?

Should I complete the new form and send it in or should I wait for an RFE?

I have also been offered a job opportunity is there any way I can get a temporary EAD in NYC until my application is being processed?

I am so stressed right now..

The USCIS website states for the I-485 "7/15/10 and 12/03/09 editions can be used. No other editions accepted. See edition date in lower right corner of form."

So if you used the new one or the last previous one you are fine.

And actually I just checked for edition dates within the past week or two and I am sure that the new form was not posted despite it being dated from July 15th. That must have literally been put up in the last week or so.
