Hi all VJ wonderful people, I just went for my biometrics appointment today (June 4) and when I came home to check on my case status, it says 'On June 2, 2010, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action.' Does this means that it is a high chance that my I-485 will get approve without an interview??? By the way, I can't emphasize how much I appreciate this forum and everyone has been so helpful!

seriously? At what stage do you request a "please find out why it's taking so long?"

I wish I knew when to start asking, there is no time stats on CSC with marriage based I485's

Normally transfered means no interview, you should hopefully have it soon :) gl

Thanks for the concise outline of AOS for a K-1 visa holder from an English speaking country :)

I just downloaded all the forms and will go back to my fiance's place to fill out what can be filled out before our wedding and make a list of what forms we need to get copied to add to this package. Our wedding is July 11, 2010 and our plan is to go to the court house on Monday July 12 to get our certified marriage certificate and then mail out the AOS package as we head out of town on our honeymoon. Let the government deal with the paperwork while we are enjoying ourselves!

I have two questions:

1) On the AOS thread, it says "Payment(s) as required by USCIS. Be sure to include the payment for both the I-485 and the biometrics fee*. Use a money order so you can track the payment. If a personal check is allowed, use that instead.

>> The fee for I-485 applications filed on or after July 30th 2007 inlcudes the cost of the I-131 and I-765 (no need to pay for them if filed with or while your I-485 application is pending adjudication -- as long as you paid the "new" rate for the I-485 effective July 30th 2007). " and it was noted on there that payment was 1010.00, however I have not seen anything on the USCIS site that says the $305 filing fee for the I-131 is not required but the Biometrics fee of $80 is - Can anyone confirm that $1010 is ABSOLUTELY correct? I am running out of time to file and dont want to get this rejected for a payment issue.

2) I think a set of Passport photos (2 photos) are required for I-485, but is a second set of passport photos required for the I-131 also?

Thanks.

1) yes, $1010 is correct

2) you need to send 2 photo's for each form you submit, AOS (I-485), AP(I-131) and EAD (I-766) which are normally submitted together they require 2 photo's each, so attach 2 photo's to each document giving you a total of 6 photo's for the 3 documents.

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick question. I know it's been addressed before but I can't seem to find it now! What did you guys put on your Advance Parole paperwork when it asks "Date of Intended Departure" and "Expected length of Trip"? Like most of you we are applying for the AP "just in case" and don't have a specific trip overseas planned.

Thanks!
