What is form 1099, i never had to fill it out in my life and my sponser never had to fill out one either, can you enlighten me on this form?

A 1099 is if you have had investments. My husband only had one, it was for the 2008 tax year. Washington Mutual issued it to him. If you don't have investments, you won't have a 1099 in your possession.

You have already paid the biometrics fee with the AOS filing fee.

As Astrid said just above me, there IS a fee but you already paid it. Biometrics was $80 and AOS itself is actually $930 which is why you paid $1010 :)

Getting my cashiers check today one quick question. It says on the description on how to write the check on the USCIS guide to put what you are paying the amount for ##### in the description. Did you Vanessa or Astrid just write AOS or the whole Adjust of status? Or did you put something else? We are hoping to send out our packet on Monday as soon as our I693 is filled out.

thanks,

Jules

Alex Wrote "Adjustment of Status" in the memo section of our check. We wrote a personal check also, because then we could track it.

Ditto for Tony and I, both in writing "Adjustment of Status" and sending a personal cheque.

YAY! It's a very good feeling! Another good feeling is finally being able to change your profile and timeline to reflect AOS pending :) I really enjoy putting my updates in... makes it more "real" or something I think.

Just in case you don't know,... To update your profile click on "settings" (up the top right of the page) then the "profile" tab, then "change profile information" (which should be the default one that opens). Then scroll down to Immigration status where it currently says "k1" and change it to "AOS (pending)". :D

Thanks Vanessa for such a valuable thread. This has been very helpful to us.

I have a question about my non immigrant visa number. The first number is not 100% legible and it looks like a C. Are these supposed to be all numbers or does it make sense that it is a letter. If it can't be a C it must be a zero.

Thanks again!

I just looked at my visa, both the control number and the visa number are all numerical, no letters.
