Hi ScottThuy,

The reason I asked (to be completely sure) is my wife is not coming to USA until 2-3 months later, but I have to fill out a Secret Security Clearance for a new job contract work for the Department of Defense.

Therefore I have to be sure to check the box "Single" or "Married" on Marital Status section.

Please advise. Thanks.

 really? You are married right? Not sure why you would think to say anything other than married. Are you saying that if she isn't here, then you are not really married? Marriage does not exist here if she is not here? Once you get married, you are married... everywhere... until you become a widower, or divorce or die. Your status is married....

BatonRouge Bill, where are you guys in the process? Our case is complete at NVC on July 2nd, and we are waiting for interview date to be schedule now

I received a RFE in the mail Monday for three things her commit to marry, my commit to marry and more evidence of an inperson meeting. I sent a lot of photos but they were not dated, it said the photo dates can be hand written on the photos so that is what I'll do also for some reason my airline ticket stubs had month and day not year and they mentioned that. I found some that had the baggage claim sticker on them with the month day and year so ill send that also, we also took a flight from Dalat to hcmc but I didn't keep the stubs.... Linh will try to go to the airline and get some kind of record. I have the email from them showing we took the flight. Also hotels would not give us a written record of us both in the same hotel... they would have had to report us to the police. they only turned in her name as the occupant. but I do have the email vouchers with both our names on them. I wish we would have held up a poster with the place and date written on it and had our photo taken, it's something.

So ultimately still on NOA1 and really worried that I may have wasted 7 months if they reject the evidence.

I didn't send in any evidence so I am worry about that part for the interview. I wasn't thinking about keeping records and evidence since we worked and stayed together in Vietnam for a few months. But I didnt have any Rfe. What is the commit to marry? Are you guys married or fiancé status?

Good luck with gathering evidence!

Our case has entered AP - my consulate review offers more detail. They seemed convinced of our bona fides (that's what the CO said). I won't bother asking how long we have to wait because I doubt anyone knows. That said I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through party membership issues in Vietnam. Our case seems benign (and we disclosed everything, along with supporting third-party documentation). I would though really like to talk with someone with direct experience with this situation in Vietnam.
