Please add yourself if you are currently in Administrative Processing (AP) 2nd blue slip. The initial blue slip (*IF you don't get pink) at the initial interview date IS NOT the same as an AP Blue Slip you get when you submit additional information as indicated on the 1st blue slip from the initial interview. The date listed is the date the 2nd blue slip is received, not necessarily the date that was listed on the 1st blue slip (in case you submitted your requested documents early)

Sample AP Blue Slip (the link is the same as the attachment!):

Every week... :)

When I went in to visit the CO during my 4th trip he said that there was some questions they wanted to clarify (which I did) and then he told me that the CO working on my case had gone to Thailand because his wife was having a baby. He said either I'd have to wait for him to come back or they would reassign the case...so I'm guessing that's where my delay is coming from...

Lindal,

Sounds like my case when I was applying for my wife's Conditional Green Card. We went in for the interview and at the time, my wife was pregnant and she visibly showed. So the Officer only checked and make sure all the paperwork were in order and sent us home saying that the card would arrive soon after he was done with everything. We went home and wait and the card never came.

Took me a few Info Pass visits to finally found out that that officer was no longer adjudicating our case because he went to work for the Border Patrol. In order words, my file was just sitting on his desk collecting dust. No one would bother to work on it since they all have their own workload.

I was going to ask for help again from the office of my congressman to push this thing through but I though of my company instead. The company I work for is very active in politics and make huge donations to both parties so I was sure if the CEO agreed to help, there were strings to pull. The CEO did and the card arrived in the mail not long after.

After that incident and 8 months of AR, I've realized one thing that regardless where I live, be it in VN or here in the USA, as long as I know where to come ask for help and pull the right string, anything is possible. The only different is in VN, you must use Bac Ho to pull the string for you. Here, you only need the right connections.

I think my case is just a tad different in that I'm probably not going to slide the American Consular Officer Bac Ho's picture on a piece of paper...lol.

I wished that the process was faster and I've been emailing and I've got my congressman involved, but I'm just gonna sit back and be patient with the process for now. Don't get me wrong...it's a little frustrating at times...especially when everyone is constantly asking me if I'm pregnant (because I just got back from my 4th trip and not because I've got a belly--which I don't...I'll let you all now in a few weeks if I am though... :P) and/or when my husband is coming over.

If 4-6 months pass and I'm still in AP will I probably send a more persuasive email/letter/phone call asking them to clarify what they mean when they say "we are currently processing inquiries in the order of receipt and will respond to yours as quickly as possible"... ;)
