John,

I'm not real clear on what you are saying..

I think you said that you called HCMC on Thursday and asked what is up with the people in AP? The man told you that they were working on files from Jan-Aug?

It is amazing that they can have a file in the works for 8 months... there is no valid reason that could justify this situation. They should have a 90 day limit on this... if you cant find a reason to deny in 90 days.. for gods sake give them the visa... its easy for them to make up a reason to deny and send it back to the states.

Hey

I Was there not only me Tuan and Huong also see that ,i was spoken with them i was see the white slip ,those peoles ask me the question 3 day i was there 95% fail not much pink

John

John, not to sound rude, but where do you get your information at? It might be that bad, but I would not want to post bad news, this just hurts the people trying to stay positive. I am also sure that 95% if far from what actually fail. but if you have proof of sources close to the interview process I am sure that we would like to see them. You can ask 10 people on visa journey and maybe 9 fail, but what about the 100 that are not on visa journey when 89 of them passed? I try to never put figures out there unless I can back them up or if I can not but I am sure they are right I say "at least to my knowledge bla bla bla" try to keep the faith not the worries

What person did you talk to. I called and got no where they just said they were working in the order they were recieved and that was the info I got. No info on my case and they did not say what month they were processing now or what they were processing, just that they were processing in the order they were recieved.

STAY STRONG PEOPLE !!!

This AP thing, if you let it, it will get the best of you. It will drain you physically and mentally. I have said it many many times that I was there once and I am no stranger this horrible feeling. It is like the whole world is against you.

Back in my time, many former members here were put on AR as well. Some people were on it for only a few days or weeks. Some were on it for months like me and if I remember correctly, one was on it for years. I don't know if he is still in it or not cause after a while, he stopped coming here. We had a list just like this list now but most members have moved on and never come back to this little corner after their SOs arrived.

I don't com here often but I do come from time to time to check on fellow members and it is obvious that the notorious US Consulate in Saigon does not get any better, if not worse. Whatever the case is, you just have to keep your head above water. Be calm and collective. I know it is easier said than done but the least I can do is to give you some comfort. Use this time to build up your cases to be more solid, have your fiances take some English or vocational classes, get the houses ready for the big day, come back to see her, enjoy the freedom of being single while it last ... Whatever you do, do it and get occupied so your mind isn't bogged down to the fact that you are stuck at AP. Again, the more you think about it, the more you will get crazy.

Regarding email correspondence between you and the Consulate, I remember someone here said they keep track of it. That might be the case now but in my experience, it is little of no use because the COs do not personal read and answer your emails. The low level Vietnamese staff do and they always send out generic letter basically saying that your case is requiring additional review and it is based on the first in first out policy. Again, I hate to refer to the past but some former members had been successfully getting out of AR by going the Consulate and demanded a short meeting with the Chief of Visa.

Also, if you have reasons to believe that your case is being investigated for fraud, the Visa Fraud Unit will never contact you or anyone on your side. Instead, they will focus mainly on your fiance in Vietnam. They can do the following: contact the local police (cong an phuong), talk to your neighbors, come to her house unannounced (happened in the past if I have not seen it lately) or some case with fiances having past marriages, they will call her house asking for the husband saying that he has packages, money, whatever awaiting for his acceptance at the post office. Again, these tactics had been used in the past but I have not seen much of that lately. Instead, now I see them asking for timeline on everyone and for those with relatives in the US, they ask for detail info about these relatives. If the American fiancees are friends, acquaintances, colleagues, or having any kind of relationships with those relatives, it is well within reason to expect a longer delay in AP. These are facts and statistics I have gathered from this board recently.

So, just a few things to keep you ahead of the game. I am praying for each and everyone of you. For each one that successfully gets out of AP, I will reward myself with a nice Monte Crsisto cigar. Just like the saying goes "Don't smoke till the fat lady sings" ... Peace

Thanks Brother Kevin...

The consulate has failed a great many visa requests.. Half of my students got denied recently and I would not be surprised if 95% got failed on first interview as John says... when he went to talk to the CO... I have read several posts from many months back and it is quite common to see nothing but blue or white coming out of the consulate with few pinks...

Everyone in AP is there for one red flag or another as Linda has indicated... its a hurdle that must be overcome or it will get denied as did Tuan's.

The stress can be overwhelming and misunderstanding what someone is saying adds to the frustration..

After review I have re-opened this topic and removed several inappropriate, heated comments that detract from the information. I am also returning to the discussion useful information from the removed posts through copy and paste. Please do not insult each other or call each other names - this adds nothing to the discussion:

No need to call names man. I just really want to know where you get your info. I can get any person to say it is 95% and call it fact??? what ever man. I asked a simple question because half of the things you type do not seem remotely close to the facts, so I want to know where you get your info at, because if it is in fact true then it is a sad day for all of us. If in fact that it is far from the truth, maybe I can give you a source that is far more accurate so that you do not sit at home and worry yourself. Look at the post man and see what I say because I am straight forward and to the point. It might aggravate some but ohh well. If you cant take the truth don't post. I try to be as accurate as possible with everything I post and to look on both sides of every story. I don't simply post to see my own words or make people think I know what I am talking about unlike other people here. take a chill pill. If me asking you about your sources hits a sore spot in you then maybe you will look at your sources a bit better next time.

lets leave this disagreement behind us.. this is an AP discussion and we dont all have to respond to everyone here...

Anyone hear from Tuan?? I'm curious as to whether he was given reason for denial...

I was in HCMC consular to submit document for my wife, nobody talking to me; the lady receive my timeline and tell me to sit down and wait.

I wait untill 5PM and they almost lost my blue slip, I'm the last person to get out of consular.

as I see 99% get blue only 2 pink that is the lady who has baby and a girl who interview by english, the left over get blue.

I get a blue say "administrative close".

there will be no more pink at HCMC these days.

CR1 timeline:

11/2008: submit I130

11/15/2008: case sent to CSC

06/02/2009: uscis approval

08/05/2009: interview-get blue slip request timeline

08/25/2009: submit timeline - get denial blue slip
