Those of us currently in AP at HCMC:

Ly Trinh ___________________8/21/2009

Huong and Phung ___________9/8/2009

Those who are out of AP w/ results:

Ituan ___________________8/10/2009 - 09/15/2009 - 36 days in AP - Denied

Lindal24 ________________7/8/2009 - 10/7/2009 - 91 days in AP - APPROVED

Please add yourself if you are currently in Administrative Processing "AP" (2nd blue slip).

The initial blue slip (*IF you don't get pink) at the initial interview date IS NOT the same as an AP Blue Slip you get when you submit additional information as indicated on the 1st blue slip from the initial interview. The date listed is the date the 2nd blue slip is received, not necessarily the date that was listed on the 1st blue slip (in case you submitted your requested documents early)

Sample AP Blue Slip:

Also to others about to go through the process and/or interview please do not fret so much. Just do the best one can is all that one can do. I had quite a few red flags and even had a few send me messages saying how I was going to be in AP and I screwed up something and I still got a pink and really in a decent time. Others have to so just because there are quite a few here in AP does not mean everyone will be in AP or even a majority.

We discuss this because we are trying to figure out the whys and therefores and to help others. It is good to discuss this stuff.

Great news Linda!! Congrats!! I am going there Tuesday, had a 2 hour delay in USA because of typhoon in Tokyo, then got delayed again in Tokyo, Finally got out of the airport at about 2 am should have been out at about 11:30 pm. Visa on arrival worked like a charm again, wont do it any other way any more.

I have never heard of any CO calling and acting like they are someone else, if they did that and it got proved, I would almost guarantee they could be up poop creek without a paddle if you know what I mean. I would tell John to look into it and if he can prove that is what they are doing file a complaint. It is not only unethical, but more than not it is probably illegal as well.

Jerome

There are several people on VJ that have posted about the same thing happening.. One very recently in Pakistan. All using the same tactic, mislead the person on the other end of the line to get them to sy something that will give cause to deny.

Just to add on to this. Someone had called Dao over a month ago asking about her "job at the bank" and other dumb questions. Dao is a seamstress. I have also heard of the CO asking interview questions for a k-3 about intimate moments including and not limited to, "Did you have sex last night?", "Did you use contraception?". There is a reason they don't record interviews or want couples interviewed together.

Good luck to all,

Fred

He knew it wasnt the person that it was stated to be.. he contacted ATT after the call to see who really had called.. it was traced back to the consulate... for a fee. its good to know that these things do happen and that relatives need to know to what lengths they will go to try to confuse someone... I read the one in Pakistan and feel bad for the guy.. it caused a big problem between he and his family as a result of the misleading statements made by the CO... I have read of a couple of people that were asked when they first had sex with thier SO, where but never heard the contraception Q... they got some king size jewels to ask that...

I remember Roger saying to look at it like its just business... its not personal, so if they ask a question that is impolite... answer it and put it behind you.. but if nobody mentioned these things here, and the SO's were blindsided by this type of question, it could result in a denial if someone lost thier temper...

NO THEY DIDN'T TAKE HER PASSPORT. I was just wondering because I didn't know the process. I've read your timeline and it says pick up passport and visa on .... so I thought they took his passport on the day he went and turn in the evidence. I know how it works now so thanks.

So my husband will be picking up his visa tomorrow (10/14) and I know the visa is good for 6 months after it is issued, but after that point, does it expire for good and we just have to reapply all over again? Is there a waiver or an extension that we can file to change the date on the visa?

Is he planning to stay in vietnam more than 6 months? If not then you don't have to worry about it. CONGRATS!!!:star::thumbs::dance:

And to answer that question, yea it does expire and you'll have to start all over again, so tell your husband to GET OUT OF THERE! hehe
