You need to use the receipt number on your biometrics letter. It is a different number.

We *tried* to do early biometrics on Tuesday - the ASC people were very nice, and had no problem that we came in early - however, some of the fingers weren't printing well - dry skin or something - so we will probably have to go back...now starting intensive daily moisturizing to get ready for next time!

thats soo funny! you know a few days ago a friend of mine went to get his biometrics for N400 and the lady told him his hands are extremely sweaty to the point where she took back-up fingerprints :)

We are out of town on the scheduled biometrics date next week, so went in for a walk-in.

Our first try last week was deterred by the security guard who told hubby it was too early for a walk-in and to come back the week after with evidence that we were going to be out of town. He had gone around 8:30am, and there were already a lot of people waiting for biometrics. Today, he went bright and early at 7:30, half an hour before they open, to be the first one there. Success! Turns out the security guy last time was actually something like head of the office, so the actual security guard he met today was pretty lenient. I guess it just depends on the luck of the draw.

The biometrics letter does not state the 1 year extension. If you didn't get your NOA then it is advisable to get an I-551 stamp in your passport.

Make an infopass appointment and they will be able to pull out your information and verify your have applied for ROC and they will provide you with a stamp.

My husband also had his biometrics done early. He made an InfoPass appointment at the Kansas City office to get them done today since he's a trucker and won't be home again until after his original appointment.

Does anyone know if we have to do anything regarding the original appointment or does the field office just cancel it in their system automatically? I would hate for my husband to get mistakenly put into deportation proceedings because they thought he missed his appointment.

Does anyone know if we have to do anything regarding the original appointment or does the field office just cancel it in their system automatically? I would hate for my husband to get mistakenly put into deportation proceedings because they thought he missed his appointment.

If I understand their system correctly, when a person gets their biometrics taken, it gets updated in the system and in his record. When the FBI access his file for the background check, all they care about is to find the biometrics there (as in a recent capture). If it is not there, then they will simply inform the USCIS that this person has no biometrics and the USCIS considers that petition abandoned. The letter and the actual date are merely a management thing so that not all the people go at the same time and overload the ASC.

You don't have to do anything regarding that. The biometrics letter should have been stamped by the officer with a time and date and this is your husband's proof that he has done his biometrics as requested.

The biometrics letter does not state the 1 year extension. If you didn't get your NOA then it is advisable to get an I-551 stamp in your passport.

Make an infopass appointment and they will be able to pull out your information and verify your have applied for ROC and they will provide you with a stamp.

What is the I-551 stamp for?

Mailed package on 1/8, Received on 1/9 by VSC.

Received biometric appointment letter yesterday (1/28) dated 1/25 with appoinment date for 2/11. As of yesterday I haven't received a NOA so I'm in the same situation as GWEN666 AND SHUB...Does anybody has any idea of why this happens?? Does it affect case progress?
