Hello all!

I am a newbie, I just signed up today (January 4,2010)!

I'm getting the hang of the site...

slowly =)

We met by a close friend in 2006 dated briefly but parted ways.

It was in May of 07 that we became a couple.

Two years later we have a beautiful daughter

and have recently gotten engaged.

We plan to wed with close friends and family

hopefully this coming Spring. (I don't like the hot weather,

and Texas is ridiculous in the summer!)

I haven't found where to post this question...

so I'll ask it here and hopefully someone can direct me to

where it really belongs...

He was brought here from Mexico when he was about 5 or 6 years old...

and was enrolled in Kindergarten here.

I want to make him legal and don't know where to start...

I've browsed the site and haven't found anyone who shares

a similar story...

Any input is truly appreciated

Many thanks from me and my small family <3

This might be better helped in the waiver section...

There are two other websites that are more waiver focused - www.immigrate2us.net and http://www.smf.juarez-mexico.com/index.php.

I don't have a lot of knowledge on becoming legal, but I know that it has to do with applying for a visa and getting rejected, then applying for the waiver. It will usually involve a ban of some type, hence the waiver. However, sometimes the illegal presence acquired has been so great that the person acquires a lifetime ban than can be lowered to ten years. I don't know if there are any allowances for those brought in as minors.

I would suggest consulting a lawyer - the other forums seem to all use the same ones. The Juarez Embassy website has info about waivers too. People on the smf.juarez discussion board seem to be pretty knowledgeable about what types of forms to file and what kind of ban you will be dealing with.

Good luck!

Let me correct what I said. Apparently the lifetime ban has to do with entering EWI a variety of times or a variety of other activities.

Someone who was brought in as a child as I understand it begins to have "illegal days" after their 18th birthday. There are different bans dependent on certain amounts of time illegal in the country.
