What kind of visa?

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Assuming that you are submitting a K1 petition, yes an I-134 affidavit of support will be required at the embassy phase of the process.

NVC won't ask for a AOS. You'll only get a letter from NVC stating your petition has been forwarded to your benefactors embassy.

The petitioner always submits an affidavit of support regardless of income. If needed (and accepted by the embassy/consulate) a co-sponsor can be used. That co-sponsor would complete the form I-134 and include all needed documents.

No need to submit until the embassy has the file and is ready.

We received our NOA2 for a K1 visa almost a week ago, now we're collecting all the docs for my interview at the US consulate in Naples, Italy.

My fiancee doesn't earn enough to reach the poverty line (she's a student and has a part time job) but she's got money in a savings account that would be more than enough to comply with the 3x1 rule (or 5x1 required by our consulate in Italy).

Do you guys think it is alright to go just like this, or should we preferably get a co-sponsor within her family?

Also, what documents do we need to prove her income and amount in her savings account? Is the affidavit of support form enough or do I need to bring any further proof with me?
