Hi Evryone,

My fiance recv'd a letter last week form manila embassy saying my petition was sent back to St. Albans, nY and so my petition is on hold, it is because of the new procedure about protection fiance, spouse from abuse stuff like that. Anybody knows about this procedure .. New procedure went on effect on March 6 2006.

Im not sure wat to do? Would anybody give me an advice pls.

If you got your NOA1 after March 6 (it seems to be the case), then they'll send it back to VSC (St. Albans) and you'll get an RFE in the mail to send it back. Also, you'll probably get online updates, stating your case is there and it was reopened due to a USCIS motion. Basically, they want to know whether you guys met through an international marriage broker and whether you've been convicted of any crimes (listed on the RFE).

No need to worry, but you'll have to be extra patient because it'll likely take some time to get another approval.

This has to do with IMBRA legislation... many of us are well-versed in it by now. There's an IMBRA Forum here as well....
