Nice guess, but wrong.

Only the visa "applicant" is mentioned as not being allowed to have a cell phone inside. This written policy does NOT exclude the USC from bringing in his cell phone. Membership does have itz privileges ;)

"For the safety and security of all applicants and employees, visa applicants are not permitted to bring cell phones or other electronic devices into the U.S. Embassy. Applicants who bring such devices will be denied entry. Please make arrangements to leave your electronic equipment in a safe location off Embassy grounds during your interview appointment. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation.

nope... not allowed... my hubby had to surrender his cellphone and digicam when we went to the US embassy in manila to get a certificate on his capacity to get married. so it's not allowed.

Maybe hubby had bad breath, for I was able to bring in my CP, hehe.

ps, nowadays smart phones are mini computers in the palm of your hand.

Cheers.

I don't think electronic devices of any kind are allowed in any US Embasy

No electronic device of any kind no CD's Cassettes, DVD’s VHF will not be accepted as proof of bona fides as well. Remember at the pre-screener window your docs need to fit under the window, 1”Hx12”W no hardbound folders or anything over ¾” will go under! The pre-screeners can get a lil-piss sometimes if you have to pull stuff out and mess around so keep everything manageable.

There is no "window" at the Naples consulate... It is a lady at the desk

US embassy can differ from each country. It doesn't mean that just because in the Philippines they have a window for a pre-screen that it will be the same in Italy or other country.

Umm unless they changed something since august 2009, I was not allowed to take my cellphone in either. With USC you can leave the phone at the front....but they did not allow me to take mine in....just my experience.

Electronic devices including cell phones are not allowed in any U.S. embasy, you check them with security at the entrance.

They even try to prevent you from taking pictures of the outside of the buildings.

Scan and print your passport and all the stamps. The petition filed and any other additional evidence you have accumulated since filing should be taken to the interview. With 19 trips, I doubt you will have any difficulty, but overprepared is better.

They asked my fiance how we met, flipped through his documents and sent him to pick up his visa at 5pm.

You are right! The last time I was at USEM in Apr. 2008 both my wife and I had to leave our cells at the front desk with some form of ID then they give you a numbered card to pick up your stuff
