It's hard to say what the 'touches' mean anymore. I've had quite a number of touches on my AOS that resulted in nothing, so they could be just dusting it off.....And there have been people with no touches but received interview letters

Hakuna matata.

MARM had the same thought initially about her RFE response not showing up and all but one day, she came to visit us and wrote that she already got her husband's interview letter.

Yes, I am one of those people. :D No touches for AP since 1/28 and none for AOS and EAD since 2/15. We are almost at the end of the road, Tina. A few laps more and we can take a rest and see each other again for ROC.

I haven't had a touch since 2/3/10 on my I-130 & I-131 and my EAD and AOS haven't been touched since the day after my biometrics (which was the same day they received my RFE) 2/17/10

It still says Request for Evidence.... if it hasn't changed by now, I don't think it's going to change, unfortunately...

Hi guys!

I just wanted to ask - my husband and I e-filed and I was wondering...Does the IRS send/mail you a copy of the tax return after you e-file?

We already have our refund - had it deposited straight to our bank account instead of getting a check - but I was wondering if the IRS sends an official copy or do you have to request it? We're planning to fill out a new I-864 for the interview but don't have a copy of the tax return that we filed (we haven't called our accountant yet to ask if she printed one out when she e-filed it for us).

Hi Fatima

Asked hubby about this (he used to work at the IRS)...he said IRS won't send you a copy, your accountant should have given you a copy when she e-filed it. You may want to call your accountant and ask for your copy.

By the way, got my interview letter today. Our schedule is on April 12 at 11:00AM.

Yay! Thank you so much!!! ^___^ I just asked my hubby to call our accountant and ask for our copy. Gaaah..I wish I remembered to ask about the copy when I sent our accountant a thank you card. We sat down and talked to her at her company's office but she had all of our paperwork at our home office (a bit of confusion when we faxed over additional documents) so we didn't get a copy then. Anyway, she's great so we shouldn't have a problem getting a copy. :D Thank you again for the info! I really appreciate it! ^_^

Congratulations on the interview letter!!! I'm so happy for you!!! (I was hoping our interview would be on the same day! LOL) Vyan7 (another Michigan filer) has her interview on April 1st too and we were hoping to meet but it turns out that hers is an afternoon appointment :( Mine is in the morning.

I'm off to update the Spreadsheet!

No Problem. If we live closer, I could have just asked hubby to help you with your filing so you wouldn't need to hire an accountant :) he does this for free anyway here in our county as part of a volunteer group that helps people in filing tax return. They do this mostly for the old people at the senior center but they also set-up a temporary office at the public library and provide free services to those who needs help.

I am sure you won't have a problem getting a copy of your tax return from your accountant.

Thanks :) Yes, it would have been nice if we have the same interview schedule so we can meet up. Maybe someday :) Well, you and Vyan7 can give me some tips after your interview. I hope they won't give us a hard time about the name change issue.

I am also hoping that I will be able to get my green card before our trip back to the Philippines. We're scheduled to leave first week of May for our church wedding. I applied for Advance Parole though and I know I should be able to get it before then, but it would be better if I can have my green card already.

Oh thank you! That's so nice of you ^___^ Our accountant is actually a family friend - she doesn't charge us anything but my husband insists on giving her at least $100 every year when she does his taxes. This year we gave her more because we got a bigger refund - she said it was mostly because of me / us being married / me having no income. LOL.

I'll definitely let you know how our interview goes! :D The only thing I'm really worried about is that name change issue too :( Do you think I should wait until the IO mentions it or ask about it right away?

I think it takes about 2 weeks for the green card to arrive in the mail after approval so there's a chance you'll have it in hand when you leave! :D :D :D My hubby and I aren't sure when we'll be coming home to the Philippines to visit but we're planning on having a church ceremony too - not exactly a "church wedding" per se because my husband didn't go through confirmation, just baptism when he was a baby - but our priest says we'll have all the traditional elements / symbols...the unity candle, cord, etc. ^_^

I think you should just wait for the IO to mention it. The lady at the ASC actually said that the decision about the name change depends on the IO, it may or may not be an issue. Hopefully we will have an IO who will not make a big issue out of it.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed :) I do hope I will get my advance parole early enough. If you want anything from the Philippines, just send me a PM and I will get it for you. We'll have our wedding in Tagaytay but we'll be spending some time also in the Ortigas area before going back to MI.
