hi :)

We have been dealing with the RFE for the medical - we set a infopass and the lady said she would have someone pull it and put it with our application, the website has not updated so we went back in one week as she suggested.

We also received his appt letter late and missed his biometrics appt because we moved and was sent out like 1 day before our change of address was submitted.

At the 2nd infopass the lady said the 1st lady was crazy and we needed to send in a letter for the medical along with a i-693 but at the end of the meeting my husband asked her to please just look in the sysytem and see where we are at - if any updates

so she did and we found out it has been sent to CA center ! We have since received a letter so stating this. I am sending in the form to reset the biometrics appt - Houston has walk in appts - but is big city with many aliens - so cannot miss all day of work if is really crowded. We live way on the opposite side of where the place is and is better to just have them reset it

we got his approval of AP

So looks good so far

Hi! Congratulations on the transfer to CSC and the AP approval!

Please let us know the dates (NOA date, transfer date, and AP approval date) so I can fill in your timeline on the Spreadsheet! ^_^

Congrats to all the recent news lately. I'm glad you were able to get your interview date, Calypso.

I just got a text and email that our EAD application (I-765) has been approved!!! :) Kyle can get a job soon (or at least start looking/applying in earnest). :luv:

Congratulations on your EAD approval!!! I hope you get the card soon :D :D :D

Hi! Don't worry, it takes a while for USCIS to send the NOA (receipt notice), if you haven't received it after 30 days of mailing your AOS packet you can call the USCIS National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283

Have you tried checking the delivery confirmation number at the USPS website too?

BTW, there is a thread for February filers at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=239940 ^_^

Don't worry! Feel free to drop by here and ask questions anytime. :)

Give it a few more days! As long as USPS has delivered it, you should hear from USCIS soon ^_^

Do you know whether your check has been cashed? If it has, that's a confirmation that they're already processing your packet (please note that this can take about a week or two too)

Just came back from my fingerprints appointment, went not as smoothly as I had hoped.

I'm glad I brought my marriage certificate with me.. and that we were there very early as it took 1 hour for me to get out. My husband was not allowed to stay with me.

As I used my married name on the application I was referred to an immigration officer because it was not the same name as on my passport.

She seemed surprised I hadn't changed my passport, with the stress etc it took me awhile to remember than in Belgium you always keep you're maiden name on official papers anyway.

It was a bit hard to communicate, she had a very strong spanish accent, then she finally understood I wanted to get rid of my father's name, she took my papers and came back a few minutes later.

She had put all my given names and my maiden name on my appointment letter.

So now I have middle names even though I didn't use any for all my applications, I hope it won't mess things up.

Why is it so hard to make understand that you don't have a middle name even though you have more than one given name on your passport, Belgium can't be the only country where this happens :(

 for the update.

You always have a chance to explain during your interview so you can take it there.

The ones you met during the biometrics won't be there during your interview anyway.

All the best!

Why is it so hard to make understand that you don't have a middle name even though you have more than one given name on your passport, Belgium can't be the only country where this happens :(

I am sending you a big e-HUG! You are not alone, Shanh! I have had a LOT of trouble with my name because in the Philippines, it's very common to have TWO first names (I even had a friend who had FIVE first/given names). Every place we have gone to has always split my first name and put one as a first name and the second one as middle name then altogether dropped my middle name.

My passport clearly says that I have 2 first names, my middle name is my mother's maiden name, then last name is my father's family name. When you get married, you drop your mother's maiden name then take your father's family name as your new middle name. When we went to my biometrics appointment, the lady said I could only change my last name to my husband's name and it would be up to the IO who interviews us to decide which name to use on the green card. My husband and I are prepared to explain during our interview and if they really won't let me follow the Philippine naming convention, we'll just file a petition for a legal name change.
