she smiled, wished us a good day and walked away...overall it was ok but I felt like we had a preliminary interview already...I'm not hoping much about a transfer to csc given those issues she raised but nonetheless i guess we're ready for an interview.

Wow, that is quite the ordeal! Yesterday when I handed the officer my letter, and showed him my passport... he didn't say anything to me! Even though my passport is in my maiden name and my letter was in my married name. He didn't ask to see the marriage certificate or anything. I didn't get asked any questions either. Very strange.... but I guess you can't expect to get the same level of service everywhere!

I think you are in CA, Mira. :star: That makes the two of us. From the moment my husband and I entered the ASC to filling out the AIW to the actual biometrics until we left, it was only 12 minutes in all. There was no issue about my name either. After all, my biometrics appointment letter showed my three first names, my father's last name, and my husband's name. The USCIS has been very thoughtful in typing my correct full name.

I got a letter yesterday saying my file for I485 was transferred to CSC!!! So hopefully that means no interview and a quick green card processing (dated 10 Feb, 2 days after the biometrics)!!!

Also, there are no new touches online and the case status is still in Acceptance for I485 and Initial Review for EAD/AP....

Of course after I post this I got a text and email saying my case was transferred. And I checked online and now I485 is under 'Initial Review' and says the case has been transfered and it was touched today.

I am in California! Okay, maybe Californian USCIS employees are just more laid back.

well this morning I got an update email that says "the Administrative Appeals Office returned this case. If your case was remanded or your appeal was sustained, we will notify you of our action within 60 days of the date of the AAO decision"

What does that mean?

Also, is it necessary for me to attend my husbands biometrics appointment?

I've never heard of that. Did you file an appeal on your case? I attended my husband's biometrics appointment, but it didn't seem like I really needed to be there. They didn't ask me any questions, but I served as his interpreter since he is still learning English.

I checked my case onlien and it says

On February 16, 2010, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done.

Pls tell me that they will make any further decision or so whatever early. And why would they say they received my response on the 16th when the mail tracking says its on the 11th. I paid more for the mail just to get there early.

thoughts anybody? thank you in advance.

At least they acknowledged your RFE response so that is a good thing, we are still waiting for them to acknowledge ours. Your case processing has been resumed so nothing to worry about.

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Nope, just filed the regular I-485.

That's good, since I have to be at work when his appointment is, so was making sure it's wasn't necessary/

You are safe, Andrelle. You are using the hyphenated style. :P

I had a touch this Monday again but none for AP since January 28. My touch for the biometrics appeared last Saturday.

Another AOS and EAD touch for us today as well! Still says the RFE is outstanding though

Perhaps the touch is for the biometrics. I keep convincing myself not to mind the lack of touches as long as I receive hard copies of USCIS notice. Yet, I keep checking their website.

Hi Weevil,

Here is what I found from another website written from a lawyer:

A posting on the USCIS site stating that a case was returned from the AAO to the USCIS generally means that the file has gone back to the service center that made the original decision on the case that was appealed. To identify the reason / status, one does generally have to contact USCIS via the National Customer Service Center.

I think you should call USCIS and ask them what's going on, for they may have accidentally mistaken you for another case.

Good luck!
